Does anyone know when they first started doing season tickets for the Kop and other standing areas? It used to be only for the seats. I want to know how many loyalty points I can sue the club for, because season tickets were not available.

It wasn't "only for the seats". I've had one on the Kop since 1981 and the first 10 years were standing.

There were no loyalty points, just the little book with the alphabetical vouchers for 'big games'. I don't remember needing these until some of the First Division/Premier away games, from 1990 onwards.

Loyalty points came in with the electronic turnstiles, some time in the mid noughties.

Sorry, I was trying to be funny. In the 50s and 60s, and possibly into the 70s (?), season tickets were mainly for the seats. Were they then introduced for the John Street Terrace before the Kop?

All bar a run of 2, possibly 3 seasons (and I ended up going to most of the home games anyway) since 1972/73.
When my Grandad passed away in 1974 Dad bought some shares (I've bunged the pictures of the certificates on here in the past) with the money he left him and had two "free" season tickets on John Street up to about 89/90 ish ? I remember him having a proper sulk when they nipped it in the bud but I'm guessing he got his money back on what he paid out..... if not his money's worth for what we saw on the pitch for the most part.
I'll have a ferret round later, I think I may have a couple of books from 74/75 season I can stick a picture on here of.

One and a half seasons (does the half season from 17/18 count?) but did renew in april for next season when I received the early bird email offer. Prior to that had one in the South Stand from 81/2 to 93/4 when I became disillusioned by the board room failure to back the manager so packed up going altogether. Nothing changes at Bramall Lane does it, selling the best forwards, board room chaos, failure to back a good manager when he have one.Hope we can break the cycle this time. Prior to that had one on the Kop for a few years but cannot remember exactly the dates.

Got my first in 71 when I started working, being married with kids in the 80's meant I didn't get so often. Had a ST again in the 90's up till 2000. A divorce then made money tight so I started selling 50/50 tickets and then programmes to get my Blades fix. Started getting a ST again a few seasons after we were in the Premier league after realising I was not getting loyalty points for selling programmes. Missed a few seasons in League one due to serious illness. I can't get to away games so not very high up on the loyalty points count.

When I was a kid my dad (not from these parts) took me whenever he fancied a particular game. When I eventually started earning after uni I got loads of freebies via a mate who knew Howard Holmes and the FURD people.

Think I had half-season tickets when they became a thing, but can’t say for sure when my first full ST was. It’s at least 13 years now anyway. So basically the majority of it has been utter toilet.

Current run is 20 years continuous. First season ticket was 73/74 i think. May have been year before. Had one every year up to 85/86 then picked games until my daughter convinced me we needed Season tickets .

Not sure if the terrace ticket was for standing or seating HBT but the 61/2 kop season ticket is the earliest in my collection so gerrem sued!!!

The terrace was the name for standing area of the old John st stand, the kop was known as the kop, Bramall lane end was just that etc But back in the day you could go on the kop and at HT walk round to the lane end. To go from the kop to John st you could transfer though a turnstile in the corner for sixpence or maybe an extra shilling the terrace always cost more than on the kop.

From when I started going (1953), there was, I'm pretty sure, a clear separation between the John Streert Terrace and the Stand. In his later years, my Dad got a ticket in the Stand, and I think it only got to be referred to as the John Street Stand when the South Stand opened.

No the terrace was standing, behind the terrace were the most expensive seats (about 6 rows) behind those seats were the main seating areas so you bought tickets for the east wing stand, centre stand, or west wing stand all of them had the choice back or front (front being the expensive ones) the ones at the back had poles spoiling the view.

My early years were stood on the left hand side of the terrace but can’t ever remember paying. We always squeezed into a turnstile with an adult. Only ever sat in the seats for the Anglo Scottish Cup semi final against St Mirren. Sitting down was far too posh and expensive for a young lad like me

That season was great fun - every away game was turned into a home game. I look back quite fondly on that season!!
