You're not wrong, I think I meant only getting one point in ten. I'm just clutching at strawsWe have not won 1 in 10 .We have won 0 in 10 .

0 in 13 , going back furtherWe have not won 1 in 10 .We have won 0 in 10 .
Which wasn’t the point you made - you said we were devoid of any idea of how to score. We created loads of chances, some of which should have been buried. That’s why we lost, not because we had no ideasP.S. creating chances doesn't equal goals scored!![]()

How’s Wendy doing? And (looking at your avatar), I suppose you said the same about Bassett when we were still adrift at Christmas?
How’s “Wendy” doing?
Point taken about the standard of defender at our disposal.Yes we should take our chances, however under any pressure we eventually concede. The only reason we didn't concede more yesterday is that changed their tactics to a more defensive approach second half. Robinson, Bryan, Lowe are all covers signings who just aren't anywhere near premiership standard.
How’s Wendy doing?
Ah yes, the default position to assume anyone who questions whether Wilder has taken us as far as he can is naturally a pig.
Here’s a tip, not everyone who has a different opinion to you is a pig fan, perhaps some of us think as a club we need to be ruthless to progress.
Wilder deserves praise for what he’s done up until this season but where as you’ll happily sit a watch us get turned over week after week after week, some of us believe that a change could be for the longer term benefit of the club.
Wilder has wasted over £100m in the transfer market, we are still in touch with 4th bottom, it’s time for a change before it’s too late.
CBA to read through the fifty threads all asking and saying the same thing, and equally don’t want to start another one, but can I ask why people think Wilder will be able to take us straight back up if we get relegated?
I get that there’s a gulf in quality between the Championship and the Premier League but it’s still the same game. Why would we suddenly start winning games after being reamed for a whole season? Especially given that we’d likely lose Berge and anyone else who showed any quality and who had aspirations of remaining in the top flight.

Expect Real Madrid? Where do you get this idea? I just want us to put up a brave fight against relegation, I don’t see how that’s unreasonable.
im interested to know who you think would be better and available to get us back up and what makes you think chris wilder couldnt do it again ? hes done it once before you knowI’m not saying he should go, by the way, or wanting to ignore his legacy at all. I’m just genuinely interested in the logical reasoning behind people thinking he’d still be the best person to take us back up.
I haven't read ten pages of replies - but I'm just going say my piece.I'm not asking who should take over or should we sack him. Im asking how long you seriously think he has left? Not thinking with your heart but try and get inside the prince and what the board must be thinking! Me personally i think chris has 2 games left to save his job, the Prince is a business man and will be wondering where his money has gone (wasted) and won't put up with this much longer. Its hard to watch hard to accept but it is what it is and the past is the past im deffo not one of these hes the only man to get us back up, I dont want to go down or sound like pigs when they lost to Hull (we'll just go up next season) we could just tumble back down the leagues, unfortunately I see us without Chris come the end of the season.
Nail on head in final paragraph. Our form is better but first 10 games is a write off. Basically we need to find last seasons points per game tally (nearly) from the remaining 28 games. This would give us approx 40 points. Looking at the bottom 4 or 5 I reckon 35 pts or so keeps us up. It’s going to be hard, but it’s not impossible. He dropped McGoldrick. McBurnie did a good job linking play, but again missed two sitters. He subbed Burke who despite all his effort he missed a sitter and has little goal threat (as he tends to leave the ball behind or fall over!). Brewster missed a clear cut chance, Mousset the rebound from Brewsters chance. Flecks chance was so good. Baldocks two also. (Baldock also fucked up a great chance when he lobbed it into the keepers arms from about 7 yards out!)
I said last week he needed a performance tonight, whatever the result. I think we saw a much improved performance. Norwood had a stinker but Lunny drove them forward when he came on. His subs were more impactful than usual.
Whilst the position cannot be ignored, I personally thought there was a glimmer of hope tonight. Big question is can we win 10 games to give us a chance of staying up!
I think it would be a mistake to sack him as there is nobody else out there, unless the Prince wants to go down the foreign route in which case we wouldn't have a clue who he could have lined up. I think maybe he could be looking at a director of football? To help with recruitment because tbh this is the only week spot I see in chris but having money youve never had before surely takes some time to get used to and get your signings right. I dont know maybe were all just clutching at straws but what will be will be rightly or wrongly.I haven't read ten pages of replies - but I'm just going say my piece.
Wilder was named second best manager in England last season, and the season before was named the best. His work has to be studied before coaches gain their top badges. When did SUFC last have a manager with those credentials?
There's only three teams in the PL not backed by a billionaire - and two of those are looking at remedying that. That leaves us. I'd suggest that's not unimportant.
The club is just two decisions away from disaster (again). Decision One - sack CWAK - Decision Two - appoint Bryan Robson or whoever is this year's equivalent. We've been down this shitty road before.
IMO CWAK have earned the right to keep their jobs - like Sean Dyke or Daniel Farke - and to try to build long term for success. We're Sheff Utd - not some big time Charlies and we need to get our expectations right.
Just my opinion.
No need to have a pop mate and yes I admit when things are going well I post less than I do when things aren't. I'm not ungrateful for what he has done but you cannot argue he has wasted a hell of a lot of money on poor players and I don't buy this "let's just stick with him and go down" It's crazy and to think we'll just come straight back up is niaeve. We have got to fight for our premiership status and unfortunately that means making a change... Just like everyone else would do in our position, he's been afforded an extended period of time to put it right, and he can't. We're going down as it stands.Hello kenworthys rash
Haven't seen you through our metioric rise through the divisions.. Thanks for the negativity now.

Really??!!And a very expensive dud of a keeper too. His time is up
We have a decent manager! It’s getting to the point where no decent manager would touch us with a bargepole.
I think he has been decent this season. Yes, a couple of mistakes but seriously, name one player, just one that has made no mistakes what so ever this season and I will join in with your castigation of our best keeper for a long time (and don’t reply with the Manc lad cos he wasn’t ours and never ever would’ve been). It wasn't his worst performance tonight but you're joking if you think he's been decent this season
I have read enough of this thread to spot the pigs on this forum and the Blades fans with no balls. I can't say I'm happy at where we are but Wilder stays for me I see no point in binning four years of progress. We are not relegated yet and even if it happens it is just a backward step the direction of the club is still moving forwards.
Some of the shit people are posting is unbelievable like we need a mega rich owner, sack Wilder etc. You only have to look across the city to see what a mega rich owner and sacking the manager half way through every season gets you. Anyone saying these players are worse than those who got us out of the championship need to give there head a wobble too, we came to the Premier League with an ageing squad at some point we have to get younger players in. Players who are into their 30's are not the future and we can't afford to be sentimental. I can assure all the whingers and whiners if Wilder is sacked he will not be out of work a month every club in the EFL would take him in a heartbeat quite a few in the Premier League would too. We always knew to become established in the top division it might take a few years of being a yo-yo club and yes it looks likely we will be going down now is the time for the Owner, Manager, players and the supporters to hold their nerve and battle through this dip.

I do wonder how much of a budget will be made available in Jan.Spot on. CW was and remains the right man for SUFC and I'm confident that he will still turn it round. He knows where the deficiencies in the side are and he will sort it in January (another midfielder either a RM or a CDM) and a left centre half are the areas he needs to strengthen. It was clear that WBA had targeted our left hand side and nearly all their dangerous attacks came down that side. Our right hand side was as water tight as ever.
If we sack CW now, we will get someone in who doesnt know the players, or the system the players are used to playing, and we are confirming our relegation imo.
As good as CW is (and he's still an exceptional manager in my view) he is still accountable and he knows that. He should also be asked Qs around certain aspects I. E. non use of Bogle, Freeman being let go on loan without a midfielder coming in, a better replacement at left centre half when O'Connell clearly hasn't been right for a while. Qs should be asked, but he will have learnt and we all make mistakes and know more with hindsight. I hope CW stays at the Lane for many more years.
A change of formation to 4-3-3 might be nice though, have a go at other teams (I can understand the defensive approach against the top 6 though).
I do wonder how much of a budget will be made available in Jan.
Given our predicament and the possibility of some of the budget was already brought forward to recruit Brewster, I'm not holding my breath on it being much.
