How long has he got left?

It's a fair point to make. Suppose Wilder goes. How can a manager hope to succeed with no wingers, or a versatile squad. Then we dissolve into that awful post-Bassett Endsleigh Division One season

Simply got to go. wasted millions on shit. Refuses to change the formation. brings kean fucking bryan on as a starter (was dropped when at bolton)

I couldn't give a toss about theoretical trenches, say what you want, that was utterly embarrassing and there's no defending the players he's signed, the tactics he's refusing to change and the fact we're going down with a record low points tally... He's spent 130m and we're actually worse than when we came up!?

HOW DOES THAT WORK!?
Some of the £130m was spent on players last summer who helped us finished 9th last season.

How does that make our side worse thay the team that came up?

Wilder stays for me.

Stretch: When your strikers are constantly missing chances like this, how do you break out of it?

fucking DROP them. SUB them.

sorry i can't get this quote thing to work on a mobile :p

I hope he stays to rebuild. But even if HRH doesn’t pull the trigger I worry he might walk away.

The whole club is obsessed with wages
But doesn't mind chucking away tens of millions on transfer fees.

A free transfer for a player on good wages and we aren't interested, but £23 million from Liverpool under 9's, and we're straight in

If there's a boring, scruffy, hardworking, agricultural, noncultural, way of doing things we'll eventually find it

My opinion is that he has 2 games but thats just mine, in my honest opinion an my head id love to keep him. The thing is he is not on the pitch hes not the one shooting/missing chances, 22 shots on goal today not one goal not one the players need to take a massive look at themselves today thank Chris for whats hes done for them stand up and start to repay him NOW BIGTIME

22 attempts, 6 on target.

CW wont walk - no manager does that anymore given the money they lose for doing so.

In this day an age, the poor run he has been on, it would not surprise me if he gets sacked. I can't think of a modern manager who has survived such as dismal run.

He dropped McGoldrick. McBurnie did a good job linking play, but again missed two sitters. He subbed Burke who despite all his effort he missed a sitter and has little goal threat (as he tends to leave the ball behind or fall over!). Brewster missed a clear cut chance, Mousset the rebound from Brewsters chance. Flecks chance was so good. Baldocks two also. (Baldock also fucked up a great chance when he lobbed it into the keepers arms from about 7 yards out!)

I said last week he needed a performance tonight, whatever the result. I think we saw a much improved performance. Norwood had a stinker but Lunny drove them forward when he came on. His subs were more impactful than usual.

Whilst the position cannot be ignored, I personally thought there was a glimmer of hope tonight. Big question is can we win 10 games to give us a chance of staying up!

Listen.. Please keep calm.. We are highly likely to be relegated, but if we get rid of Wilder. We face a dark time just like when we sacked warnock..

Keep the faith we've fucking murdered them but haven't scored.. Do you really think its down to the manager.. Because I don't..
Yes. He signed the players who cant put the ball in the fucking net. & the clown who cant keep it out at the other end. So yes it is his fucking fault.

People should be ashamed of of wanting him out. He turned us around from league 1 unfortunately the players are letting him down massively. Get rid of wilder and there’s literally nobody better to replace him, get rid of Wilder and we will just loiter in the championship. He is a proud man, he knows it, he feels the same us, cos he is one of us ! our luck will turn and hopefully we stay up, never think a better manager would be willing to join to Sheffield United, we are not attractive. Be careful what you wish for.

Think 2 seasons back when we played this fixture and managed to get the 3 points without having a third of the chances that we had tonight......afraid that's the way football goes sometimes. Never mind league position, previous games, signings & whatever we deserved to win tonight.

I’ve seen enough in the performance today to say Wilder gets till Christmas. If we can play like this we will pick up some points and avoid humiliating ourselves. But we really do have to keep being competitive—if we go back to the weak, boring play from West Ham etc then I think Wilder’s job is in question.

I’d like to see him learn some lessons from today. Firstly, if keeping the system means playing Kean Bryan, then the system needs to be changed. Second, Norwood has been a wonderful servant of the club and still has a role to play but doesn’t have the physical attributes to compete at this level. Third, we look so much better with more attacking players on the pitch. I’d like to see more of this 3-4-3 and see us try and create chances and score goals.

Tl;dr stick with Wilder for now as long as the improvements from today continue.

McBurnie has been missing sitters for months. Baldock is a defender. Mousset hasn't played six months. Brewster is new. Apples and oranges??

It’s not just who he’s bought, although there is definitely a debate there. It’s the positions he’s bought. Where’s Bogle? Why spend a chunk change in a tight budget on squad wingbacks? We have no athleticism or creativity in midfield. Buendia would have been in price and wage structure. We knew JOC was injured during lockdown and haven’t replaced him. The recruitment has been poor that surely isn’t up for debate??

The big buys
£20 m - McBurnie definately not Wilders first choice not going to get a PL striker for that money stats say he was next best option after Maupay who wouldnt come. I was never his greatest fan would rather have had Maupay. Hes definately not good enough but it was always a gamble

£22 m - Berge young player with a very good reputaion in the game we had the chance to buy him and managed to get him top 6 clubs were sniffing hes finding his feet in the PL, he has skill and would thrive in a team with better players around him we will make a profit on him

£20 m plus - Brewster we needed a striker again cant afford a proven PL stiker like Wilson (£100k per week at Newcastle) so went for this option even though we were led to believe he would be available on loan which may have used up money we could have spent elsewhere
There is a lot of pressure on this kid hes very young and vey talented he will need time to settle

We have signed 2 x strikers which we needed surely that isnt up for debate ?
Berge was an investment who should have a good resale value

The only other significant purchases were the 2 x wing backs from Derby brought in as cover I suppose we could have spent the money on cover for JOC but Wilder probably thought Robinson or Stevens would be able to cover this position until JOC got fit, he has got that wrong. He was also led to believe Brewster was available on loan and may have spent the additional money we had to spend on a permanent deal for a replacement for JOC. We were probably expecting to get some money in from the sale of Lundstram which didnt happen, I am puzzled why we didnt get a fee for Freeman instead of loaning him out

Managed to get a whole bundle of Pork liking you there Dane (as they would). WELL DONE!

We became a threat tonight when two things happened. Burke was finally given a chance and when we didn't punt it forward from the keeper in the hope of a McBurnie flick on. Easy for me, play it out from the back, drop Norwood and McBurnie and play any of the other four strikers.

The only silver lining is that chances were created

Another day and they'll go in but nothing is going for us at the moment

But, how much of that was because we just fancied our chances tonight.

The problem is we'll revert back to type when we come up against a decent side.

We're getting to the point now where a good point against Man Utd, Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool etc won't be good enough.

I turned the channel over on 67 minutes

A ball went in the WBA box and the goalie fluffed it, fell over, feigned injury and got a free kick.

That was it for me

A footballing 'murder' cant be committed without scoring surely. Fck me

I think it's time for the Prince to act now.

He should ring up CW first thing on Monday and tell him that he absolutely still thinks he's the best man for the job and that he is going nowhere. Then he should talk about how the training facilities improvements are coming along, then finish off the conversation by telling Chris that there will be a new contract on the table for him at the end of the season, either way.

Loyalty is remembered, and when CW get us back on the up again (which will happen soon enough) he will remember those who stood by him.

He is the right man for us and will sort it. I still think we will be OK this season.

Its just another polarised discussion like Brexit, BLM, Covid etc etc.

Wilder was superb in his after match interview imho and feel for him tonight after all the sitters missed and the questions re Klopp.

That said its realistic questions will be asked after the results since after lockdown, and particularly since the start of this season.

We’ve got to have a change in manager, I just can’t see how things can turn around under Wilder. It’s 1 point from 30, Wilder’s morale and confidence must be at rock bottom, how the hell can he lift the players?

Who then ? If you sack somebody you need a better replacement
Is this replacement going to save us from relegation ?
If he doesnt is he going to be the manager to take us straight back up ?

If we get relegated I know who would be the best man to take us back up that is Wilder
Burnley stuck with Dyche
Sacking managers isnt always the best way forward ,we had 4 when we got relegated to L1 see how well that worked out and surely Wilder has enough credit in the bank to have a chance to continue managing us

He won’t resign, neither should he. I’ve watched us long enough to know that if he hadn’t been appointed we’d still be in Division One.
We created enough chances to win two games tonight, we missed some right sitters, you certainly can’t blame Wilder for that? 22 shots, no goals FFS, you can take Wilder out your cross hairs tonight 🤷🏻‍♂️
But we’ve missed sitters in the last three games - all by the same goon he keeps playing - why? It’s no use saying it’ll come. It won’t, McBurnie is not up to it, I’d rather see Billy out there.
