Looking back on a report from SUFC -v- Man Utd game from November 2007, saw this post-match reaction
.
Contrast Warnock with pretty much all Wilder’s comments about every premier league match we’ve played so far, in particular refusing to praise “effort” (it’s a given), and being unhappy that we didn’t beat Liverpool, and reportedly unhappy after we beat Everton 2-1 but the performance wasn’t as good as he wanted!

The game in 2007 was one where we might have scraped a draw but for a Claude Davis - Paddy Kenny mix-up according to my memory, but for large parts of the game that Man U team on that day absolutely played us off the park. Today we were the better side in every department (although you could day their keeper did well) for the first hour.
Is this SUFC side just a much better side than we had last time we were in the premier league, or was the mindset just all wrong back then and so much better now?
