How good was mcgoldrick today

I was amazed to find he wasn’t MOTM even on the ridiculous twitter voting (the fact Fleck wasn’t even in the 4 options was staggering), and doubly surprised to see him not leading the ratings on the forum votes. Is it a case that he was better seen at the ground than maybe on the streams? He was superb, and the minute he went off we stopped building stuff at the front. His pressing, hold-up, driving was masterful. He is as important to dictating the play in the final third to us in the current system as Duffy was in the system last season.

Who were the 4 ? its always the scorer who gets it anyway. The difference between Duffy and McGoldrick is Duffy could disappear from the game for an hour at a time ,McGoldrick never does. My favourite player along with Norwood ,so much ability.
My mates lad was mascot against Arsenal last week and his lad said McGoldrick was the nicest person he met ,he had loads of time for him. Top man.

His best performance in a Blades shirt for me, and that is saying something. He looked to have an extra yard of pace too.

Any other day he would have been the clear MOTM, but Lunny and Fleck were also on another level yesterday, as was Mousset.

Always rated McGoldrick, he was very good today, it would be interesting to see him in a deeper role behind two strikers from the off.

I'm also trying to figure out just how good the Moose actually is. I'm inclined to believe that he's a real talent with bags of skill and an eye for goal who likes a first time shot but I'm also wondering why he never really got a look in at Bournemouth? He sometimes does something really amazing then makes the wrong decision. Perhaps it was this that Eddie Howe saw on the training ground more regularly, it might be as simple as Eddie felt he needed to iron out a few more creases before he was ready to push for a starting place?

Either way I'm loving what I'm seeing from this partnership in its early days and tempted to get overexcited about Moose. Hopefully he is a real gem who goes on to have cult status.

According to CW in the Sheffield Telegraph, Howe rated him highly but Mousse was fed up because he did not really get to play (presumably as he was behind King and Wilson who were first choice). CW identified that here was a player would jump at the chance to play every week or at least not be stuck behind 2 well established strikers and that’s how we came to sign him. I would say that he is clearly not the finished article but he already looks very good with bags more potential. An eye for goal - 3 already and would have scored at Chelsea if the defender had not touched it first. Obviously lightening fast, strong and has shown awareness of what is going on around him and being able to bring others in. Great flick for Lunny’s first. Also some contact for the second (but not sure it was deliberate!) then won ball back and perfect little though ball for Flecky’s goal. And still young!

We know how good these lads are, but as we've seen this season out playing the opposition in midfield and making goal scoring chances is great but literally pointless if you don't score the goals.

A very good point, that first goal was very missable, he puts it the wrong side of the post and you never know what may have followed.

I’m not one of those who always knew Lundstram would come good, but we have all seen over the last couple of years that he can finish when given the opportunity. I imagine he would be a great penalty taker.
