How good was Blackman

Have to say, I have more faith in Blackman in our goal than Moore. Both good lads but Blackman definitely edges it due to his size and presence. I just wished that he came out and dominated his box more cos when he does that he looks a top keeper.

Blackman has the potential to be a premier league standard keeper, whereas I'm not sure Moore has (though he's definitely better than what we have had over our recent history and is decent back up)

Only person at fault for the goal was basham who has had a horrendous run of games and doesn't seem to for in the team anymore after playing awfully in several positions

I think that describes the situation perfectly

Another example of Wilder’s man management. He’s done a pretty good job of knowing when to drop someone without it wrecking their confidence and then having them come back firing on all cylinders. Billy against Leeds was the other obvious example.

Blackman and Moore are both very fine keepers at this level, I find it hard to choose between them.

That save low down was telling. He's a huge gk. That agility is rare at that size

And it came through legs at pace & he must have seen it relatively late. Great save. I've not been his biggest fan since he joined, but I though he looked the part tonight.

Maybe came alive because of the opposition? Very much his best performance but his physical potential is international level imo

I mentioned it elsewhere last week but he really is going to be an excellent goalkeeper, the guy has nearly everything except experience. Would be delighted if we could keep hold of him.

He is really good at commanding the area and always has been, if he wants to get ‘to the top’ there are other parts of his game which need improving.

He’ll benefit loads during his time with us.

Blackman was outstanding tonight and couldn't be blamed for the goal. You just knew it would be that pork twat that would score though!!!. It was a lovely cross from mahrez though!!. IMHO. Utb

If we did go up I think first order of business should be to arrange another season long loan and make him first choice.

I think Moore is a decent keeper but Blackman is improving up and beyond.

Where would you expect him to be positioned in that instance? The only way he would have saved it is if he was stood on the back post and that would have left the front post wide open.
Correct!
Great cross from the right,IF anyone to blame,o'donnell was ball watching rather than keeping an eye on Vardy..no blame for Blackman.

I wasn’t wholly convinced by Blackman early in the season but I am now.
Against Leeds last weekend he showed his quality & by the sounds of it last night he did even more so.
Moore is going to be playing the supporting role until the end of the season now & I think he knew that when he got sent off at Wolves - thought you could see it in his reaction.
Be lovely to keep hold of Inspector Gadget next season as he looks like he’s settled in well & developing a good understanding with the back 3.
He’ll be in demand though.

If we don’t go up there’s no reason we couldn’t loan him again next season. He’s nowhere near Courtois’s standard so won’t be challenging him.

Too late, he’s been noticed......

Looked a very assured keeper for Sheffield Utd last night, my lad said he’s on loan from Chelsea, 27 and just coming into his prime. Get him in this summer to press Schmiechael as our other keepers don’t seem to have done....

It's the only time I've ever seen him play but the one handed save from Vardy was as good as the Kasper save at the other end. His control of balls coming into the 6yd box made me envious and the size of the guy is exactly the build of keeper I'd like to have

Brilliant. I'd like to think we'd have a slight chance of bidding for him.

Like others have said, he should be one of our main targets in the summer. Maybe ambitious but I’d like to think we’re going to be.

When a keeper commands the box like him it’s makes it so much easier for the defence. Superb handling. In my opinion a better keeper than Moore

I'd say that's the best game he's had for us so far. Very assured handling in the air. But, major question marks again over his positioning.

I've not been convinced by him but there's no denying the quality of his performances in the last two games and the potential displayed.

It's also important to remember he's only 24 - very young for a keeper.

Good keepers are very hard to come by and he could well turn out to be our best option for next season.

If we could get him permanently I'd not hesitate for a second. I don't think we could though. It would probably have to be another loan. And they might as well let us have him.

The loan here will have worked wonders for him and hopefully Chelsea will be willing to loan us one or two others.

I see folk suggesting we get him for next season, which would be fantastic.

However, I cannot see Chelsea selling the lad unless for a fee that was huge and way in excess of his value considering his experience and age, potential is huge but there’s a fine line for paying their worth and their future value. So unless we get an investment in the billionaire spender category ala Wolves, we wouldn’t be able to afford the fee to force a sale or even his current wages.

We may stand a chance of another loan, and I don’t see the value to a keeper of being in the premier over championship. Perhaps if he’s nearer the top of the champ over lower prem he won’t be as busy, other than that the job is much the same. If he returns to them in May having learned a lot, improved and enjoyed his spell having been well looked after, Chelsea may suggest he comes back again if all parties are happy.

Whatever happens, I think he should have the shirt here and look to push himself to keep it. Hopefully his loan will allow him a play off final victory to experience and add to his CV.

Assuming he wouldn't want a pay rise, he would still be around double the wages of our next best paid player.

I suspect that they may want him to go an loan to a PL club next season but they may decide another year in the championship would be more beneficial, depending on how well he does for the rest of the season. And, we could still go up.

But, as you say, they must be very pleased by his progress with us and will probably be happy to lend us some of their other players. They've still got a good youth team, as good as any in the country, so there should be some good potential loans available.

His contract is up at the end of next season so Chelsea may be looking to sell as I seriously doubt he'll be challenging for their first team any time soon.
