Without doubt it does. I’m not advocating uncontrolled violence but I can see why lads get mixed up in it. It’s not a new phenomena.

And…you haven’t set foot in a boxing club then. A lot of kids that want to fight regularly are taught discipline in the ring and won’t, on the whole, take their violence outside the ring.
The boxing club analogy is about teaching discipline and skills that can be used for violence. That's not the same as a young lad who goes hunting confrontation

I’m not sure what the debate is now, can you direct me to what I’ve said you disagree with?

Didn't realise it was 'old boy' macro aggresive males only allowed to read this thread?

I shall move my bridges post from general chat to the 'wokeflake lefties who don't like mindless, uncontrolled violence' section so as not to offend.
The tribalism, atmosphere, passion and aggression is what drove me to football to be honest. My grandad used to moan how I'd sit there and just watch the away fans in awe from a really early age.
I'm into MMA, Boxing, the gym and heavy metal..
So you probably would call it toxic masculinity.
But, its ok. Betas have told me that for years 😅

Competitive sport and particularly rugby league and union another good outlet for young people wanting to “smash fuck out of thee” in a secure, rules based environment.

Unless someone brushes their head against another player, then its all stop until a neurological surgeon asses the injury.
Sports are just becoming more and more non contact, plus, Rugby is so fucking boring, to stop start, and before you say owt, yes I played it until I was 22.

Most people say better to play than watch, but each to their own.

I've done both, exactly as it says in the post you've just replied to!!?
And if you care to read the thread from the start, Rugby was also discussed and it was explained that, it falls toward a class thing where we are in the world, there wasn't much by the way of Rugby where I grew up, yet lads Ive worked with from Hull, are the total opposite, more Rugby than footy. I've never personally met a young lad that wants to be a Rugby player when he grows up, I meet lads wanting to be football players everyday.

We were going to Oldham away during miners strike , when we started seeing coppers we started singing victory to miners etc etc , coppers stopped coach and threatened every fucker , there words not mine with getting nicked , that was without scrapping with anybody FFS
Similar experience that day (Sept 85). I was on Kaz's coach and we were all singing Arthur Scargill songs. They turned the coach around in the car park and gave us an escort out of Lancashire 🤣 .

Then I’m not sure what even we’re discussing. Have a good weekend.
We were discussing violence at the football. I said I've yet to meet any young person who seeks out violence and leaves people who don't want to fight out of it. You talked about boxing clubs, I didn't think that was really what we were discussing and I don't want to get into a long back and forth about it.

I'm sure this somehow makes the neighbours twitching their curtains think they've proved a point but mostly, I was working and I decided I didn't want to keep relitigating it.

Looking back, no I haven't seen those young people in boxing clubs causing violence at the football and maybe the discipline instilled there helps. But I still don't think that's a solution for people who are just inclined to cause havoc. Apologies for not giving your response the proper attention you gave mine

Macro aggressive? Usually Argos car park isn’t it?……

Yet you posted

“ Most documentaries on the rise of football hooliganism in the UK points to the disenfranchised youth of the Thatcher era. I'd also couple it with a theory that upto the 70'/80's there were a generation of kids who were normalised to corporal punishment at home, at school or from a copper/neighbour/stranger.
When you condition infant kids to the notion that violence is an acceptable form of resolution, don't be surprised that they grew uP”

So you didn’t say you agreed with it but coupled it with another opinion, basically backing that time frame.

Just seen your edit. Take it you decided to read what you’d posted and decided to slink off.

Never been run, never lost a debate to an idiot :)

This has now become a bit like a pissed up works do where there's several conversations going on at once, everyone's shouting over each other and you're not quite sure any more who's arguing with who. Or that Two Ronnies Mastermind sketch where the questions and answers go out of sync. I'm still hooked though, carry on everyone.

Hahaha no mate.

It's just I almost allowed myself to get suckered into bickering on here, with people who appear to have nothing better to do with their lives except to bicker on here.
You saying i don't have anything better to do?

Send me your phone number. Then we'll talk !

This is all terrifying stuff, but have you ever crossed keyboards with a little old fat man who had a police escort in Leeds during the 70's?

At least it’s my own memory. Il’ not getting off on someone else’s war stories for credentials. Why not admit being shown to be wrong it’s what’s upset you?
