How did C. Evans play yesterday?

He was.

Loads on here know better than Wilder and know with 100% certainty, it was KM forcing him to do it. It's basically a tax dodge to allow him to take even more money out of the the club.

I didn't realise you arguing...here's what you said:

I'm not sure what you're getting at. I said the signing was Wilder's idea. You've just confirmed that Wilder said the same thing.

I saw him come on against Preston in the cup and thought the looked petrified of the ball. He had a good 30 minutes in a pretty stale game but looked shaky, nervy, and as some have said, a shadow of his former self.

When it was announced on Saturday he'd be starting I didn't think we'd have much threat from him.

As some have said though, we weren't creating chances particularly well anyway but for me I can't see him getting the game time he needs to improve.

Well it's relatively trivial issue IMO but seeing as you'd like a chat:

Saying 'the signing was 100% his idea' is not the same as saying 'ultimately, it was my decision'.
The former implies no one else was the involved while the latter states he had the final say on any decision to sign the lad.

Now he may well have said 'the signing was 100% his idea' somewhere, in which case, great!

I'm here to help.

You are correct, it is a trivial issue. Strangely you seem to take great pleasure from discussing those.

I accepted, post #86, that Wilder didn't use that exact wording. The main point I was making, as i'm sure you are fully aware, is that it was Wilder's decision to sign Evans, something you seem to agree with but are doing your very best to try and argue against.

You didn't make you 'main point' very well.
In fact you appear to have to made something up in an attempt to refute Jan Age statement.

Listened to most of the live commentary on Radio Sheffield.

At the end of the match Keith Edwards said Evans played OK.
Said you can see he still has decent quality but he’s lost half a yard of pace and sharpness.
Said he’s not quite up to standard but not far off and needs more matches before he makes a proper judgement.

My god you really are a very boring person. Are you this pedantic is real life or is it just on here you have to nit pick at every single comment a person makes?

Just to clarify, I was trying to make the point that Wilder was behind the signing of Evans. I commented that Wilder said it was '100% his signing'. You, rather predictably, asked if that was the exact wording. I accepted that it probably wasn't but that my main point still stood, in that Wilder was behind the signing. You actually agreed with this and even checked what Wilder had said before confirming it.

Regardless of how well I made my 'main point' you know exactly what I was getting at (and I've now repeated it several times). Why you feel the need to keep going over it I've no idea. Stop trying to ruin another thread.

As it stands i find it very hard for anyone to disagree with that assessment but they will.

Except that wasn't your main point was it.

Your main was attempting to refute Jan Age 's statement that this wasn't '100%' Wilder's decision...hence you responded with something you probably made up to sound better than what you're saying now.

ie: 'Wilder must have been lying then, when he said the signing was 100% his idea.'

There it is.

You're arguing over the wording of what I said, rather than the point I was making. If you feel I wasn't making my point well enough than that is fair enough but the thing you seem to have taken such offence at it the use of the word '100%'. Have you missed the bit where I accepted that wasn't what Wilder said? I'm sure you can find a way of telling me that isn't what I actually meant, like you know that better than I do.

If you want to carry on being pedantic then knock yourself out, I wouldn't want to ruin your fun.

I'm not arguing the wording you used. that's perfectly clear.
I'm disagreeing about the point you making...ie: it was 100% Wilder's decision.

McCabe has tried and tried again to bring Ched back to the club over the years, offer's of training, offers of contracts.
Clough even stated ' he would leave the decision to his employers'...so some indication that McCabe was involved eh?

I think you are being very naive in thinking this is solely Wilder's decision.
But Hey! that's just my opinion.

Great stuff

As it stands i find it very hard for anyone to disagree with that assessment but they will.

There seems to be a fashion that in order to make a point more valid a viewpoint needs to be exagerrated.

So regards Ched or any of our players. They were either great or shit?
The truth is yesterday is that Ched wasn’t great but he wasn’t shit either.

What’s wrong with saying a players performance was just OK?
A middle of the road 6 out of 10 performance, worked hard, some quality touches but lacking pace, sharpness and fitness.

Didn't he also say he wouldn't be at the club if he was told to sign certain players?

If it was his decision ultimately and he's said he wouldn't be here if told to sign certain players, can you elaborate on how you think McCabe was involved in getting Wilder to sign him?

I don't think he was told he must sign Evans...however, as I stated above, Evan's return was on the cards long before Wilder came in.
I don't see who else but McCabe could be involved given the history.

The deal would have been put to Wilder, he's assessed it and given it the ok. ie: ultimately it was my decision.

P.S- Put i this way, I don't think Evans was top of Wilder's shopping list at the end of last season...before the season had ended in fact.
