How can we get excited?

Our recruitment system is probably how they operated in the 1980's/90's, we haven't progressed as a club. Instead of having a scouting network and using data to find talent abroad, we go via a black book, and when I mean a black book, it's just one page containing names that have previously played for us.

We have fallen lucky with lads coming up through the academy. Nydiae (summit like that) Anel and Berge are the only players off top off my head that we have brought in that were unknown to us, who were not gash.

If I'm honest, I'm not particularly displeased about our signings, it's the lack of long term vision. Phillips/Donovan/Doherty/Webster etc... all either over 30, or signed on loan.

We are systemically stripping the squad of assets. Reminds me of us after we can down in the late 2000's, just kept signing journeymen on high wages.

One thing that will get me excited is if CW leaves and the next manager does not have any favourites and gets picked on form. To bring the players through from the Acedamy would be a good start since everyone raves how good our academy is.
