You cannot legislate for the decline in standards of one of our most vaunted cultural institutions (the BBC, not the pigs) - why do I pay my license fee for crying out loud - oh I don't but what the heck - sort yourself out BBC - wrong team !!!!!!!!!! :p

raul You're not wrong. Tumbleweed blowing through the CBD by 6:30.

Fell foul of that a lot when we first got there - "Dinner? But it's nine o'clock, mate - kitchen's closed, and the chef's gone home."

My short take on Perth - it's sunny all the time, and you get to live by the beach. But in return, you have to accept a lifestyle like you died and went to live in 1950s heaven. That's the deal - and we copped it for seven happy years. Three Aussie dollars to the pound helped for a while too :)

I still listen to Radio Five ever day and would be a little lost without it. I'd love the option to pay my licence fee and gain access to all the BBC's output. Can't think of a better way to spend $250 a year.

Spooky you mention St Georges Terrace, that was where the client I went out to visit was!

Had a couple of experiences similar to that when we were there too, incl last orders at 9.00 p.m on Sunday.

Perth is a City the size of Birmingham with a city centre the size of Doncaster...lots of suburban sprawl. It's more like a US City than the other big Aussie cities in my experience.
