Been saying this all along, good to see a thread about our shit tactics. We are the only team in the league who regularly play the long ball hoping for a mcburnie flick on. We are the only team in the league without a win.

We actually played football last season finished well up the league. Rest of the time, relegated.....got to at least try to play the ball out from the back to have a chance.

And people wonder why pundits churn out the same soundbites every season we are in this division. 'physical', 'good from set-pieces' etc...

This season has turned in to full on hit and hope, Neil Warnock style. At least Warnock could make it effective and had players willing to put their balls on the line.

Watching us go long wouldn't be so bad if we were good at it. McBurnie was deserved MOTM for me today, but all these stats about his winning aerial duals just means he got his head to it first, which is meaningless to me if the ball didn't get flicked into a dangerous position, which it hardly ever does. When we did this under Bassett at least the ball would often go off Flo's head into a space and create a chance.

Our two best attacks in the first half came from fleck and Berge running out of defence for 40 yards.
I would not mind the hoof all if it worked occasionally, but although mcburnie won lots of headers, Leicester often had 2 or 3 defenders to mop up.

Mario is spot on here. Their confidence is shot. Calling them cowards is way off the mark and shows a lack of football knowledge. Is 14 your footballing IQ? Also not a touch ironic calling someone a coward whilst sitting behind a keyboard in blissful anonymity?

If we’re aiming to ping it off satellites, at least get bodies around the second ball! McBurnie’s got to tussle with a brick shithouse, watch the ball re-enter the Earth’s atmosphere, and somehow perfectly aim a flick to a man out numbered 3-1.

I'd say that we are missing both Duffy and Coutts right now.

That may sound odd but qualities they brought that were glossed over are needed more than ever.

Week in, week out we hear about us turning over possession.

We got away with Norwood for Coutts' initially because he brought a range of passing which added to our game. But now, in times when we play teams who can really hurt us with the ball, we have nobody who 'never gives the ball away'.

Though this skill was very much tied to Couttsy, Duffy allowed us to replicate in the final 3rd what Coutts' did in the middle third. He was cautious with possession and he also allowed us to create through the middle as well as down the sides. So in a sense, we're not only playing without much of a left hand side, there is also limited threat down the centre too.

While Lunny was playing to his absolute optimum this went unnoticed but as soon as he stopped we've really unravelled in the midfield area.

I'd like Chris to get back to 3-4-1-2. We would not have gone up the way we played when it was 3-5-2. I don't find 3-4-1-2 risky either, it just encourages us to retain possession higher up the field and take the initiative more.

We could use McGoldrick in this role. Maybe Ampadu could play the Courts role. I've all but give up now on going 4-3-3 or some variation.
