October 7th 1971, a newly promoted team had won 8, drawn 2, lost 1 of their first 11 games. That would be 26 points in today’s money - and game 11 was the one they lost.

I bet this is the best ever top flight promoted team start.

It is actually at the most only our 3rd best start after being promoted. Pretty mediocre

Of course we all know football started in 1992 I guess the gap between 1st and 2nd Division is higher than it was before with the money differences! But still think it’s quite impressive to be 3rd out of 40+ unique promoted sides over the years, particularly given the forecasts of 99% of pundits.

Some stats are very silly such as the first time we scored 3 in the first half since 1993- we’ve only been in the prem for 2 years since then!
