Rather than post what should have happened after tonight’s game, what team selection do posters think will give United the best chance of a good result tonight and what changes do you think CW will make?

Keep the same team as the last 2 games and don’t have a 5 or 10 minute brain fart in the second half when all 11 forget the basics of football. Easy, when Villa snap him up you know where I am.

Billy should have put that sitter away.
That would have been his first ever double hat trick.

Duffy was blowing at 92 minutes and should have been subbed.

Leon and Lunny had their worst ever games and are both shite. If only they'd actually got on the pitch, we could have given them some reyt booing.

That’s the big decision.

Do we gamble and keep the same side, risking below par energy levels so the pressing game doesn’t last.
If we keep up the normal intensity it’s likely we’ll be running on empty in the final 15 minutes.
Another gamble is if we play the best team tonight then surely that means we play a weaker team on Saturday as many will be knackered. Picking an unchanged team could mean 2 defeats and then Wilder will get stick for playing a weak team against Hull.

Wilder will have the data and know who feels up to it and who needs a rest.
Ideally there should be no changes but it’s not an ideal world.

Would probably change the left back, Johnson in for Stevens.
Think about bringing in Stearman, dependent on who needs the most rest between Egan and O’Connell.
Would rather keep Sharp and McGoldrick and play Clarke against Hull but depends on if Sharp or McGoldrick feel up to it.
McGoldrick has a history of injuries so we should resist the temptation to over use him, so probably play Sharp/ Clarke.

Midfield is key, our strength.
Would check on the energy levels of Duffy and probably tell him he’ll have 60 minutes then he gets his deserved rest
And bring on Lundstrum to replace him, hopefully we’ll be leading by then.

Same team, the players have had an extra days rest, don't see how that affects our normal game tbh

I know what I'd like to see but I also know that Wilder does what he wants, he does what he wants and the two things are unlikely to be the same.
I agree Stearman in for Egan if the injury to Egan is bad and I don't see that this will weaken the team too much.
If Duffy's waining (yeah I know he played a good 90 last time) take off at 70 it's time to bring Coutts back onto the pitch, push Fleck into Duffy's place.
Norwood is getting a lot of time on pitch and doesn't get a rest at international break, so another I'd think of giving 20 minutes off if we are comfy. This time it'd have to be Lundstram coming on.
Like to see Clarke getting time on again if either Sharp or McG are having a bad day or if we're cruising.
Sadly I don't think we'll have an easy game so a couple of these suggestions are unlikely anyway.
UTB 3 points and start opening a gap between the top 4 and 5th place.

Same team. Most will get an international break after Dull City. If Norwood et al come back tired, THEN rest them. Not now we have a bit of momentum.

But we’ll be playing a team on Saturday who’ll have an extra day to recover

No one seems to be willing to plan ahead, it’s all about the here and now.

Just heard that Wilder has taken the risk with NC, no changes on the door.

If we lose tonight get ready for the criticism of the players, saying they looked low on energy.
And if we also fail to beat Hull, then no doubt Wilder will get criticism for not using his squad.

‘Hindsight” is a good thread title.
