Can anyone tell me why Hill was selected yesterday? Injury or tactical? How did he do in his comeback and who should be starting at LB?

Higgingbotham was injured apparently ,I think they are both adequate ,Hig more of a talker and slightly better going forward ,Hill is a strong defender and defends the box like we tend to do. Happy with either ,McMahon for me is our weakest defender.

Hill's a really good defender at this level, but unfortunately bobbins going forward.

Occasionally both Hill and Higginbotham can spot the opportunity to go forward. But none of them are attacking full backs, the Roberto Carlos, Fabrice Evra, Ashley Cole, Matt Lowton kind who like to go forward and be an option in pretty much every attack while also being good and creative on the ball.

Maybe McFadzean can become such a player eventually? Would it strengthen us if we tried him at home against deep defending opposition, or should we stick with the defensive solidity provided by Hill and Higginbotham?

I was impressed with Hill on Saturday, despite the inevitable few misplaced passes.
Has little pace, but seems a 'bit' more agile than Higginbotham.

You always risk getting caught out at the back with forward pushing full backs, Hill on his day is a very steady player.

I think if we could combine the talents of hill and higg and throw in some of the galavanting that williams does down the wing we may just have a league 1 player on our hands.

Agree.
