I find it amazing that professional judges of footballers ever deemed him capable of playing at our level. Even though he's a decent finisher, to quote Nigel Adkins, "you've got to run about". It ain't bloody optional.

Noticeable Adams did a lot of running and closing down yesterday a part of his game that has been sadly lacking. Looked much more accomplished with the effort (although he was knackered by the time he went off). Needs to keep it up or like Higdon he will be a finisher but not a footballer.

Naturally gifted is one thing, but players also have to realise that for the most part and with very few exceptions, reward is proportional to effort. You get out what you put in, (bla bla could be two of Adkins cliches) but nevertheless true

But he was. The stats back it up. The SPL is around the same standard as L1 and I'd guess the lower part of the Eridivisie is similar.
He's deteriorated hugely over a relatively short period of time. It's almost like he's just lost interest.

Another striker who was signed despite having an abysmal goal scoring record. One really good season at Motherwell, 10 shit seasons before it.
Anybody can score a few in the SPL, even Chris Porter.

He looked a bit hefty on the footage I've seen of him in his Motherwell days but he never looked fit with us. I thought given a few games he'd start to liven up a bit but then he seemed to get worse.

Lets actually look at the facts of his brilliant goal scoring feats. According to wikipedia he scored 26 league goals in his last season at Motherwell,
in the previous 9 seasons he scored a grand total of 57 goals in about 240 appearances. Hardly Messi was he. 1 good season and 9 seasons of scoring an average of 6 goals a season before it.

His best game was for us away at MK Dons in the league cup, he came on and won us the match.

Decent enough in the box when he wanted to be but most of the time was too slow and unfit to actually get in the box. The fact he is plummeted down to the conference with Tranmere says it all.
