Listening to Wilsons after match interview is obvious that he hasn't a clue what to do or how to do it!
He says he's frustrated ! Not half as frustrated as us long suffering fans!
He shuffles the goalkeepers, midfield players and forwards yet our defence ships goals for fun and he does bugger all, the coaches appear top do bugger all, same mistakes week in week out and surprise surprise Monty still gives the ball away every time he passes it and he is United most experienced player!!!
We had Evans, Cresswell, Simonsen, Quinn, Montgomery who all get (not earn!!!) more money per week than most Division Three players get a month yet they are all shite, show little or no passion - they should be embarrassed but
Wilson is supposed to be the Manager, lets see you MANAGE Mr Wilson because I for one have little or no faith PROVE ME WRONG !!!

We were quite terrible, with the exception of the much crticised Simmo and Collins who were steady throughout. They looked quicker, stronger, and generally more hard-working than us. There were a couple of nice pieces of play that we served up, but they both ended in nothing and beyond that we were clueless. The Monty/Doyle combo, while it's been effective in the past, was woeful. Clarke & Phillips were not at their best, Cresswell huffed, puffed, fouled, while in defence both full backs were repeatedly out of position. I'm going to save my biggest criticism for someone I've praised much of the season - Quinny. At Orient when we have the game away he was screaming at his team-mates for letting everyone down. He let everyone down today, even before the brainless gift-away of possession leading directly to the penalty. He has the quality to scare teams - lately we haven't seen it. Today, we definitely didn't.

Thud. I realised today just how poor we are. Not a cat in hells chance of getting promotion. Totally wank today. I went expecting bombardment. Little did I realise it would be us serving up long, wayward, nothing balls. Stevenage moved ball quickly but were less direct than us. But at least they know what they're trying to do. I'm told were trying to be a passing side. Bollocks. Monty and Doyle in the middle, presumably altering our shape to counter the the footballing giants of Stevenage. Fuck me.

If Wilson hadn't been handed such a shit hand with vastly over paid low grade players, I'd really be questioning him. I haven't got clue what he's trying to do, but given the inability to shift our plodders on, I've got no better ideas.

Agree alco. We were rubbish and got exactly what we deserved.

Can't believe what i'm reading on here. We are a 3rd division club and teams at this level are average...just like us. Today we expected direct physical football from Stevenage and that is exactly what we got and I thought we handled it comfortably until whoever it was at the far post didn't clear the ball properly for their first goals.

In my opinionStevenage huffed and puffed until we deservidly equalised. We then had our normal mad 10 minutes until Quinny and LJF conspired to mess things up.

Simmo,Doyle,Cresswell(1st half),Evans(2nd half) did well today with Collins superb. For me Clark,Phillips,Monty,Quinn and Williams were awful and cost us the game.

Stevenage were excellant and getting the 2nd balls and we weren't which is how the 2nd goal came

Doom and gloom ? No. I didn't expect us to make the top 6 this season and many on here were saying the same in August. I'd be happy with top 10,end of season Evans,Simmo will be out of contract as will Williamson. Quinn and Monty will be moved on and Wilson will have a team of his own players.

We are playing better football than last season. We are desparate for a centre half to replace Maguire(Ertl ?),a left back(Taylor) and a right back so Lowton can be pushed forward. Wilson will know this but where is the money to get the right players in.

Transition will take time and we have no right to win games against 'pub teams'

I have some sympathy with this view. Stevenage did not create that many clear cut chances, but they still looked comfortable. Once we agev them a soft goal, the game was over for me. They just put more presure on us and we capitulated. We actually had chances to score, with Quinn and Cresswell missing good opprtunities, but I thought the goal was against the run of play. The crucial point, as you say, was thet they won the midfield battle. They won evry 2nd ball and controlled the midfield. Without the ball you are always going to struggle, but when we did have it we looked clueless. Why is it that we must give teams a head start with sloppy defending. Their central defender had enough time to control the ball, turn and fire into the top corner. That was after a poor attempted clearance. On the build up to the corner, their player fell over and still managed to get up and run forward with the ball! Their main chances (the one Simmo saved and the goal) came from defensive blunders. You could argue that if we had not given them silly goals they would not have penetrated us, but I just think they looked hungrier, better organised, more physical, quicker and more assured than us. They knew exactly what they wanted to do and we just seemed to dither.

Can't help thinking that much of the problem is down to our team not being as fit as the opposition. Given our facilities that should not be the case and it's hard not to blame the manager.

When Bassetts side was relegated you could see straight away they were too good and would get back up, this lot arent even good enough to convince me they wont get relegated.

A piss poor "team" in a piss poor league.

Shockingly bad result today and one the club should be feeling very nervous about because it doesnt auger well for the future
