20180824_202033.jpg Quiz question: I know who they are but can anyone name the players and the ref?

Game was a 4-0 defeat to West Brom in the 87/88 season

Blades and Bladettes, hopefully by now you've heard about my book on Chris Wilder's SUFC revolution, ingeniously titled 'He's one of our own' (I know, I had to really dig deep to come up with that one). The first thread was sidetracked a little and with kind permission from Foxy, there are a few updates to share with those few of you that will be interested :D

So... the book is now available to pre-order via its own dedicated website, as well as directly through me on here/Twitter/FB etc.

It's currently slated for release in early September - I'm still hopeful it might be a little earlier - and features contributions from, amongst others: Messrs Gage, Pack, Garrett, Wright, Duffy, Currie, Coutts, Stearman, Slater, Holmes, Knill, Brooks, Clarke and Wilder. Plus a few members of this very forum, and a whole heap of fan pics documenting the Wilder years thus far. And, yes, a Kryten-looking CW :D

Thanks mate! You got yours quick... others hopefully shouldn’t be too long although Bank Holiday will inevitably slow deliveries down.

Was Stan a stand-in goalkeeper during that game then? Looks like he's wearing a goalie top and carrying gloves and stuff.
Yes, Roger Hansbury (on loan from Birmingham) got injured and was unable to continue. He was sent back to Birmingham.

Didn't Roger break his leg and that was it for hisbcareer at the Lane?

He was a skinny unkempt dude from memory but he pulled some really good saves off in the few games he played for us. A shame as he was looking ok.

Danny, just want to say thanks for the book. I got back from Portugal today and it was on the mat. Time for a read, methinks!

Cheers for all the support, books are out for delivery so shouldn’t be too long until they’re with you - although Bank Holiday Monday will likely delay things a little

Mine actually got delivered on bank holiday Monday.

Question for ya - how true is the thing about Kevin McCabe’s ‘special diaries’??

Doesn’t seem to be available on Kindle now. Is that likely to change?

Kindle will be nearer Christmas apparently, just found out

Oh well, may have to buy the hard copy then. Just worried it will then sit on the bookshelf unread with the other 50 books I’ve bought previously with best intentions of reading them.

Haha you do that as well? :D
