I remember him saying we "beat the fuck out of West Brom" at Reading a few years back.

The flip side of this is that the singer of Weezer is a pig.

I've just bought their entire back catalogue on the basis of this information - go blades :)

I can just imagine this echoing off Shoreham....

Sometimes I feel like I don't have a partner
Sometimes I feel like my only friend
Is the city I live in, the city of angels
Lonely as I am, together we cry

I drive on her streets 'cause she's my companion
I walk through her hills 'cause she knows who I am
She sees my good deeds and she kisses the windy
Well, I never worry, now that is a lie

I don't ever wanna feel like I did that day
But take me to the place I love, take me all the way
I don't ever wanna feel like I did that day
But take me to the place I love, take me all the way, yeah, yeah, yeah

He could almost of wrote it with United in mind!

Na, Na, Na, Na, Flea's a Blade and Flea's a Blade!

Nice one Flea. Funny how he considers himself to be English through marriage. Why do no American's consider themselves to be American? I met loads and they all claim to be Irish or even French even though they are third generation American. I like how in the pre social networking age he just rocked up in LA when he felt like it hoping he wouldn't be doing anything.

Is the second Housemartin link in Dutch? Or have I missed a translate button.

At least three of the Sky Sports girls are blades.

I'll be listening out for any blades references from Flea in a couple of weeks, he better deliver!

Someone who was in the Black and White Minstrels (there was an article on him in one of the programmes in the 60's) and someone who was in The Bill

The minstrel was interviewed in the 50 Seasons in the First Division book in 1968. His dad was well known as well.

The guy off The Bill was the one who played 'Yorkie' about 20 years ago. My mum stopped watching it when he left.

Good news about Flea, shame the RHCP are shit.

No band with Flea, John Frusciante & Chad Smith in it could possibly be shit. All about as good as it gets as musicians. I appreciate that Frusciante has left again, but despite all the "socks in cocks" type nonsense, there has always been bags of substance to them.

Anna Walker who used to be on sky moons ago is a blade. Can we count Robert Carlisle in the full monty?

That's the third girl I was thinking of. Anna Walker, Alex Hammond and Charlie Webster.

Joe Cocker of course, if we're talking real musicians.

It's coming back to me now - wasn't his dad (or maybe some other relative), David Mercer who played in the 1925 cup winning team.

Edit: there you go, the Minstrel in question was Tony Mercer.

Sure, they are great musically, but so were Emerson, Lake and Palmer and the dagger throwing prog trio were still shit.

Ant Genn from the Hours ,the music from Ali in the Jungle is being used on a programme promo at the moment.
