He says he's happy to stay coz he loves the club, even if it is in league 1.
Do you want him?

Anyone who doesn't want to keep a fit Henderson is mad. If we had Henderson available this season instead of the likes of Cresswell ,Bogdanovic and Evans we would not be anywhere near the bottom 3.

That's the key though Sitters, keeping him fit and him keeping a control over himself. On the basis he'll probably be our top earner next season if he stays, is it a risk worth taking ?

I'm sure he is happy to stay on his £15k a week. Don't think McCabe or Tricky will feel the same - especially when the latter needs to fund his approx £350k per annum from somewhere.

Getting rid of Bogdanovic and Cresswell would be a far better release of money. It will be a more physical challenge next season and Henderson will be needed with a foil of either Slew or Evans or A N other.

Where do people find the figures for peoples wages? proof please.

Adams said in an interview the other week any players that do stay know they have to take a wage cut, if he still wabts to say under those circumstances then I'd be all for it.

I'd be happy if he stayed. He would HAVE to take a wage cut, but if he is happy to do that then fair playto him. I think he could be a major force in L1 providing he keeps his temper and stays fit.
I have nothing against Henderson, but more of a problem with the system build around him (lump it to hendo)

Hendo was woeful against Bristol City & Cardiff but he's a decent player when on form. Wages will be an issue but he's a far better player than Cresswell & Boggy.

I'd keep him. Despite all the criticism he has gotten lately I think he is a very effective player ('effective' being a more suitable word than 'good'). Football clichés are grating, but he is a 'leader'/'grafter' etc - the kind of player we lacked throughout the season with Morgan's absence. Earlier in the season I'm sure our defence would have appreciated being able to clear the ball with the hope it might not come straight back at them. Id argue with anyone who thinks he isn't a handy target man, and his goalscoring record has been decent. However, as others have pointed out, when he's on the pitch the football is scrappier and uglier.

He's probably the kind of player we'll need to get out of League 1 (bearing in mind the players we will be able to bring in), but in the long term I'd like us to move away from the obsession the club has with the (outdated) prioritisation of notions like getting stuck in/grafting which are intrinsically linked with a long ball game (or how the club (embarrassingly) defines it "The Blades Way"). It embodies an attitude toward British football that has dramatically declined in the last ten years.

You know them things with loads of numbers in - well there called accounts. It says what the highest paid director was on. I think this is Birch but no doubt you will say it doesn't say Birch so it could be someone else. Birch joined on 1 December 2009 I believe so gross the figure up for 12 months. Accounts should be on the website.

We need passionate players. Passionate players care and unfortunately try to hard resulting in sending off and missed chances. I think on balance I would keep him on the same wage as I get per week.

I asked for simple proof coz all people seem to do is pluck figures out or make assumptions fron nowhere. You decided to be a condescending Twat, Yet have still offered no proof.

Considering how long he's been out this season he's still getting into the right areas. All that's missing is that final ball. A bit more match fitness and we could have those goals we've been missing all season. Maybe the two goals today are the sign that he's back on form.

Lovely - great snap. Must be one angry person - angry at Birch's total ineptitude?

Just my natural response to the likes of you asking for 'proof'. What you want? His P60? Yep, I'll just get go and get it. I don't make things up numbers wise - know you'll find that hard to believe but read the accounts and see what you think. Saying 'assumptions from nowhere' is a joke Boo.

Who do you think the highest paid director is?

Oh FFS now I'm agreeing with Sitters. Best best foil for Slew to play off. In League one he will wreak havoc.

Hendo + Slew = Champions

Not sure about champions but its a good place to start building from.

Oh bugger and I posted before I even read this :p

if hendo stays,a great partnership with slew in league one would take some beating, even though weve not seen much of slew in the first team squad, theres just something about him.as for hendo, personally i dont think we`ll keep hold of him because of his wages and maybe one of the newly promoted teams will snap him up.

It's surely not that simple? If he's paid £750K per year, we'd be insane to keep him. Or any of them, for that matter.

1. A fully fit Darius Henderson is an above average Championship Striker.

2. A fully fit Darius Henderson ought to be an outstanding League One Striker

3. Darius Henderson is the perfect strike partner for Jordan Slew.

These are the reasons why I would be delighted to keep Darius next season.

At what cost? £2K per week? £20K per week?

Alcoblade its funny that you should be the first to quote as I thought about referring to your earlier post.

You are absolutely right, finance will the deciding factor in whether Darius stays or goes.

As far as I am concerned his ability (fitness permitting ) is not in doubt but obviously the club has to be run in a financially responsible way and if for arguments sake he is on £20k per week with no adjustments for League One, then he probably has to be offloaded.

Since starting Hendo and Slew upfront we have scored 7 in 3 games. It should also be more if it wasn't for some dodgy finishing at Preston.

The main thing is, since Hendo (and Slew, granted) has come back in, we have looked a threat infront of goal. Something we have lacked all season.

I would be very very happy if he stays next season and also stays fit.

The key thing with introducing kids is that they have experienced players to look after them and for them to learn from. In the same way as Harry Maguire will learn from Chris Morgan, Jordan Slew will learn from Darius Henderson.

Yeah. You could see it against Bristol, the guy marking Slew knocked him off the ball a couple of times and it looked like Slew didn't know how to defend it.

Working with Hendo will no doubt help him learn tricks like that.
