No that's a young fella knowing how to play the fans and trying to play a seasoned pro (Wilder). Henderson is good but he's ambitious don't let all this love fool you, he'd drop us tomorrow if a better deal came in, he's no more replaceable than Jamal Blackman who we 'should've signed'.

Premature comment? No one knows who's staying or leaving, the best guess that anyone can add is that Wilder brings in some quality to improve the overall quality of the squad. By ruthless I wonder if you actually meant that Wilder would trash the squad and spend money we can ill afford?

You're aware that money needs to be spent on the training facilities, aren't you? This and the additions we'll bring in will cost a petty penny, so let Wilder and the club do what they're best at.

I do like him, I just don’t rate him quite as highly as most fans do.

We get that money every year. It's not just a one off payment.
I know it might be difficult for a lot of Sheffield United fans to imagine, but we can stay in the Premier League for years and establish ourselves quite well, a bit like these giants of the game, Watford, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, Brighton. Not too mention at least 20 other medium sized clubs that have.
It doesn't have to be a flukey, flying visit whenever we go up you know

£20-25m is what Norwich are talking for next season, but is that it? It might just about cover the wage bill, but that's all.

We'll need to be very careful and somehow 'break the mould' of how a lot of clubs have been doing things. Not 'splash the cash' on overrated players while resisting calls from (some) fans - if we're struggling - to panic and chuck money at it.

Fulham are a prime example of how not to do it. Discard the players who got them up, spend £100m replacing them and straight back down. (the 'parachutes' will be mostly absorbed on honouring existing contracts and thinking that writing clauses in contracts that salaries will be reduced proportionally in the event of relegation from the PL will result in a lot of players saying 'no thanks')

Next season will be extremely difficult and I hope the crowd remain patient. (I think they will, as the bulk of our support have been around since the bad days in Division One - not 'Johnny-come-lately's' with their fucking clackers who were probably 'fans' of the Steelers when that was the latest big thing).

OK, so if DeGea moves on, they won’t replace him then, if Hendo is next in line? I can’t see any scenario where Hendo would be risked, as much as anything else he’s not good enough at the moment.
Not sure what your source is here for your viewpoint but just seeing where he is in his development, he’s a good couple of years of top level experience away from a top 6 keeper IMHO.
That’s before you get to the fact that it’s Man Utd and they’re now in a beauty pageant for expensive signings rather than being a successful trophy winning club.

Duffy will be super motivated next season.. he’ll get more time, space and protection . he could be a key player for us

Not having a pop at the lad, but he’s just not got anything like the experience, which is why a purchase with buy back seems to make sense if possible. If not loan with a purchase doesn’t mean his dream of playing for Man Utd is dead.
United will look to spunk a fortune on the replacement for DeGea just so they still seem to be at the top table in Europe.
All that is before we talk about it Man Utd is a club you’d want to be trying to break through at, at this particular moment. I think they’re going to have another couple of rebuilding years, which is why Rashford should seriously consider Barca if that offer is on the table. They’re miles behind City and Liverpool, and even Tottenham and Arsenal in their current development.

Players aren’t getting any cheaper, so I can’t see how we would get Henderson for any less than the Gunn fee. There are similarities between Henderson this season and Gunn last season, if anything Deano had a better season with us.

I can also see Southgate taking Deano to the nations league finals this summer so ideally we would sort a deal before that. That would probably up his value by another couple of million!

Latest: 'Tom Cairney has signed a new 5-year deal at Fulham - and had his 'relegation wage drop clause' removed. Cairney was due to see his salary slashed by around 30% after Fulham's fall into the Championship, but his new contract - which runs until the summer of 2024 - will see him stay on £60,000 a week.'

Utter madness. £3m per year x 5 = £15m, by which time Fulham could be in Division One. His agent is Unique Sports Management who have Harry Kane, Zaha, Sessegnon, David Brooks etc. as clients. This is what we'll be up against next season.
