Utter madness. £3m per year x 5 = £15m, by which time Fulham could be in Division One. His agent is Unique Sports Management who have Harry Kane, Zaha, Sessegnon, David Brooks etc. as clients. This is what we'll be up against next season.

If you click on the link and look for registered player agents in England you find Paul Mitchell under the M's. Didn't realise he was an agent, if it's the same Paul Mitchell of course. I was looking for Chris Morgan who I was talking to a few weeks ago, he's an agent now but I forgot which company he told me he was with, they have Gareth Bale on the books. Don't think he could displace Enda though

OK, so if DeGea moves on, they won’t replace him then, if Hendo is next in line? I can’t see any scenario where Hendo would be risked, as much as anything else he’s not good enough at the moment.
Not sure what your source is here for your viewpoint but just seeing where he is in his development, he’s a good couple of years of top level experience away from a top 6 keeper IMHO.
That’s before you get to the fact that it’s Man Utd and they’re now in a beauty pageant for expensive signings rather than being a successful trophy winning club.

The key word is 'potentially'. Very little room for errors in the PL. Absolutely none when you're up against the cream of Europe. For whatever reason, de Gea is rocking at Old Trafford and Liverpool have Alisson and Man. City have Moraes in goal. When de Gea is replaced, it won't be with a rookie with no top-level experience.

Not sure I quite get the clamour to spunk >£10million on him. He’s a decent young keeper and served us well but I wouldn’t want us to blow our budget on him.

Why? Because they’re Man Utd and have to in order to keep their reputation of being at the highest levels of European football, especially while they have such an under performing side.
How many youth keepers have they brought through to a full league appearance? Was Gary Bailey the last?
It’s also worth noting that Johnstone is a couple of years older than Hendo, hence why they’ve not made a call on if he’s going to make it with them yet.

Hart has 75 caps for England.

Foster is still one of the best in the top flight.

Carson is and always was crap.

Henderson is the u21 no.1 on the verge of a full call up at 22. He's probably the best English GK prospect in the country

Actually yeah Hart is a terrible example as he wasn't sent out on loan by a big club anyway he was picked up from Shrewsbury I think and until his form fell off a cliff he had a great career you're right
Foster ,Carson and Robinson and I'm sure a few others I can't remember have had good careers but not been the world class stoppers they looked at Henderson's age is all I'm saying ,goalkeepers confidence is fragile and a bad mistake in a high profile fame and they never seem to recover fully

If he does sensationally well they take him back in the summer, if he does okay but they have someone they think is better then they sell him to us or another club for a far larger fee than he's worth now.

We take the risk of playing an inexperienced player - in Prem terms - and they sit back light up a cigar and assess the situation.

Now that we are where we are and have an academy that has proven that it can produce Premier quality players we will no doubt be able to do the same thing by loaning out some of our prospects to Championship clubs and let them give them league experience before we decide whether to bring them home or cash in.

Is Butland injured? If not I can’t see anything apart from Butland, Pickford and Heaton.

It could well be a little too soon for him to go to the nations league, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Southgate took Henderson over Heaton.

Heaton is definitely 3rd choice and highly unlikely to play, so Southgate could see it as an opportunity to give a young keeper some experience.

And if we can’t get him permanently there will be GKs available on permanent deals who at present are equally as good, Etheridge for example.

I just feel we need to be very cute with the loan market and as we are only allowed two I’d rather those two be game changers who we couldn’t afford to buy out right.

The standard of GKs in women’s football is what let's it down IMO, the standard of the football is better than most believe but the GKs are dreadful.

Yes we do know, there haven't been too many occasons over the years when I've been ashamed of the behavior of fellow Blades but the treatment handed out to George Long was one of them. He was a young lad and instead of supporting him a section went in for booing and ironic cheering. The problems David De Gea is experiencing at the moment shows that even great keepers can make mistakes.

You're right about Henderson next season, I think he'll be okay, we have conceeded fewer goals over the past twenty league games than any team in Europe other than Man City and Atletico Madrid. Wilder and Knill are excellent tacticians, I expect us to start off with the 'organised chaos, overlapping wing backs ' plan but if it causes problems we'll adjust.

In womens football the goalkeepers are the only ones that don't look comfortable, women don't have the physique to be able to cover the goal effectively and get caught out with lobs and top corner shots too often. I'd suggest smaller goals but then I'd be labelled a misogynist git

This is exactly my view on it.
Chuck a sell on fee and buy back clause in. Otherwise it would probably be another season in the championship for him. Which would do nothing for Manchester United in a value or experience sense.
