Henderson for their goal

He must have had a few drinks on Christmas Day because he was rather indecisive yesterday.

Dreadful keeping. Either come for it or stay back; don’t do neither. And he showed him the near post.

Really poor
Came for one second half as well down their left wing but belatedly back tracked and it came to nothing. His kicking was bang average yesterday too. Great shot stopper but was lucky not to concede from the free kick. He couldn't see the ball being struck as he stood behind the wall.

As soon as he started to come he messed it up. He clearly realised he wouldn't get there and then didn't get back quickly enough. He also lost track of where his near post is and that's why it looks so amateurish.

Henderson is a great young keeper and still learning, Foster is a great keeper, yesterday showed that, but we've seen this negative shit before with Long, and that basically stopped him progressing any further and had it's effect on him.
We should've learnt from that, leave Henderson to develop, he's still young, he will get better if he's backed, so get behind him instead of pointing out his issues, we can't afford for him to lose any confidence, just because people need some fucker to rip and moan about.

Yeah thought he could have done better. No doubt he's aware of it too though and will be learning from it.

Top keeper. Saved us many points this season and is very much in credit. Could have got his angles better but as someone said, odds are in the striker's favour anyway in that situation.

There's nothing wrong with criticising constructively. It's out of order when people just use terms such as 'he's crap' etc.

Nope just watched the highlights on amazon flecky had half the goal to aim at and aimed back at foster

When watching it back it is a bad miss as well as a good save yeah fleck hit it towards Foster but foster also did very well to get some thing on it and keep it out of the net as mentioned fleck could have used pretty much 3/4 of the net and that's a goal but instead hit it into only the 1/4 that foster could have saved. A bad miss and a good save but definitely not the worst of the season for me.

Flecks miss was worse miss of the season

Sorry Flecky

Disagree. He'd ran and made up ground and got his foot to it. Foster spread himself well and got a bodypart to it, which is all you can ask a keeper to do. It was a pretty bloody excellent save, not quite as good as Seaman's with Pesch but in the same bracket.

pommpey

I'm not going to say it was a bad miss or a good save, because it was neither.

Fleck hit the target, with a very strong shot. If anything he hit it too well. Difficult to see what more he could have done.

Foster got himself in the right area, but it wasn't a save he actively knew anything about. If it's 2 inches higher, it hits his thigh and goes in. He we well positioned, but nothing like a save in the Banks v Pele or Seaman v Pechi mold.

In those situations you are coached to 1. make sure you hit the target. 2. Go across the keeper if you can. Fleck did both. It hit the top of the keepers calf. 9 out of 10 times those go in. So keep doing that Flecky!

Yep Deano was poor for their goal. Having said that, he's only a bairn, and he's pulled off some fucking blinding saves this season. It's one of those things, he'll learn from it and we move on

There was an entire net to aim for bad miss IMO

It was a great save but foster shouldn't have had the chance to save it IMO

He was probably too occupied why the other players in the team had stood about while an impotent Watford walked through to take a shot.

I don’t think there’s too much overreaction here. Mistakes like these happen – he’s a very good keeper, he had a minor lapse here and he’d have probably saved 19 of 20 of the same attempts. He’s also demonstrated a strong enough personality to quickly respond.

Fair to say it ended up being poor keeping and he could have made it more difficult, but even if he’d have done much better it’s not guaranteed to save a goal.

He just seemed to get caught in two minds but that initial indecision was caused by the excellent touch from their player. After that he lost his bearings and probably turned round and thought what the hell am I doing here.

He’ll generally make the right decision on those types of chances more than he gets wrong

Quite evidently yes, are you thick?

'Evidently' to whom? 'Thick' for not noticing, was it a long holiday, no internet? Sorry I didn't notice, no posts for how long? Must be thick me!!

Thing is Akinbiyi there are really good threads on football matters such as Deadbat's match reports as you well know. Your comment on Henderson can be made there in the proper context and as to be expected the goal wasvfeatured there.

Henderson has played very well since the Liverpool game with outstanding saves at Norwich and Spurs. It's over the top to feature his single mistake in a new thread.
