Work commitments over the past three years have meant I've only been able to attend at most a dozen games a season. This has obviously restricted me to home games as I'm not knee deep in loyalty points.

This season should be different, especially in 2018, and I'd really like start taking my lad to away games as he's not done one yet.

Am I pissing in the wind thinking I'll be able to get away tickets what with my lack of loyalty points?

Any help/advice will be much appreciated.

If you only have a smattering of loyalty points that puts you in front of general sale. Get you and your son in the membership scheme as well. Quite a few games will go down to the lower reach of loyalty points and general sale. One other piece of advice ,if possible buy in advance not pay on the day because you don't get points for those.

For some games you should be OK, we haven't sold out for Middlesbrough today.

Ta all. Much appreciated.

Can't wait for him to experience an away game. Nowt quite like it.

idleurchin if you have internet access and your loyalty number, you can see online through the ticketing part of the OS

As you're posting on an online forum, you have successfully achieved part one...

Sounds like Boro wasn't a sell out today. So pick and choose your games and you will probably get some away tickets

Cheers SwissBlade. Yeah would have definitely gone today but for work.

Probably try and get to the City Ground on 30th Sept. First one I can realistically do.

Just me and the lad these days so hopefully see some of you there. Be nice to put some faces to the (interesting) names.

We'll generally on average have more allocation in the Championship, so I can imagine it being less of a concern than League 1.

You should be ok
Because of the loyalty points system it means that we always have some left

If everybody waiting for general sale tickets could travel with 3 minutes 11 seconds notice every game would be a sell out
But unfortunately the sale of tickets is so sluggish because loyalty points members don't take up their allocation until their Dad, Uncle, Brother, Sister, Friend are able to get theirs

This gives the impression that ticket sales are slow and we end up with the initial allocation only, and even they struggle to get sold
