Cheers for the welcome folks.

On bladesmad, I started a telegraph fantasy football league (only 12 of us signed up mind). If any on here have a telegraph team and want to joint the league, the PIN is 8074359 and the league name is Bladesmad League 1. The more the merrier. No prizes I’m afraid, just a bit of fun.

Alf, I agree with your sentiments about bladesmad. You get some daft arguments (I’m guilty of being involved) but you also get some good banter on there as well. I see some posters have wished me well on the departing thread. I note you’re still posting on there too. As I can’t log on without my computer trying to throw itself out of the window, could you please pass on my thanks for the well wishes? Thanks in advance.

Tom, come on, Alf thought he’d left all that behind him. Although it was one of the best things to happen on any message board ever in the history of time.

What happened mate if you don't mind me asking...

Alright Dane, welcome aboard..I also post on BM occasionally, but it's no good on my ipad,so use my phone to post on there, which isn't ideal...anyway,some good posters on here aswell mate, and quite a few BM posters already here...we're all Blades at the end of the day.

Nice to see you Dane. You aint seen me right?. Been on here very sporadically since 2013. Quite nice though there is a complete contempt for Bladesmad by some who seem to think that all posters there are representative of the worst excesses. (Just don't ask daft questions when rising from a wine induced slumber early morning in Barcelona. They really jump down your throat).

As a new member of the forum, I just wanted to introduce myself. Some of you (Roygbiv, Beatts International, Itsinyerblood etc) will probably know me from bladesmad as I’ve been posting on there for years (I can already see the eyes rolling). Their recent “upgrade” means that every time I go on the site, it crashes my work computer so I’ve called time on the site and defected.
I’m as disappointed as everyone with Saturday. I knew our defence was poor but expected better than that. I also hoped our attacking prowess would compensate but it seems we created next to nothing. I’m hoping we bounce back sharpish and am encouraged by the signing of Edgar. I think the logical thing to do with what we have at present is shift Jay-Mac to left back (until Harris is fit) and partner Collins with Edgar. With Baxter’s injury, I’m hoping we’ll start to see James Wallace partnering Bash in the middle to make us more physically imposing. Looking at how poor Woolford looks in these early games, I’d also be tempted to put Adams on the wing (until Flynn or Done is fit) and play Sharp and Sammon up front. I do however see Che’s long term position being centre forward.
I’m not overly concerned with the cups but after a mauling on Saturday, we could really do with a morale boosting win tonight. My team would be

--------------------Howard
Freeman—Collins----Edgar—McEveley
Adams-----Wallace---Basham—Murphy
---------------Sharp----Sammon

I often advocate rotating for the cup games but I think it’s important to get the likes of Sammon and Edgar gelled into the team and to get some confidence. Anyone going tonight?

Not sure about keep Collins in the team but I like the look of the rest of that team.

Welcome 1danewhitehouse. I'm on the two sites now after reading BM for a few years and both have their ups and downs.
There's a few posters over on there that I agree with consistently based on how we should have approached this season and the mistakes the board and Adkins have made so far in particular so I tend to spend quite a while reading and posting on there.

You will find or might have found already that when I or any other poster express such views about mistakes the board or Adkins could have made so far, on here it's met with quite a lot of disapproval which is an interesting comparison between the two sites. A few problems have arisen since the update on BM, namely not being able to quote posts and awful episodes of extreme lag in the evenings.

I agree with your thoughts re Gillingham, nothing short of an utter disgrace for me the performance.
As regard to tonight, the cups were nothing but a distraction and an excuse to under-achieve by 20 points last season so in the back of my mind i'm hoping we get knocked out so that we can concentrate on the league. It's maybe not right on first thoughts to wish your team to lose but I honestly believe it would do the team better in the long run. After all, promotion is the aim as it has and always will be.
Correct in your statement about cup runs. That applied to both seasons under Clough. An excuse to stay in favour after losing to Fleetwood and Yeovil, Crewe etc.

So I won't read any personal abuse towards other posters on here? My, that will take some getting used to.

What about if someone threatened to harm you, say, in a car park behind Argos? Would that be tolerated?

Just asking on behalf of Alfreton14Blade so he feels nice and safe.

Argos? Oh no, not Argos.

Waitrose perhaps :P ;)

No comment from me as I use neither forum. Both are full of silly sausages.
That's me done.

Oh and just for the BM refugees you don't spell Tw@t like this, plain old twat is fine, we grown up here and can swear. The C word can be frowned on unless talking about Terry fuckin Curran. ;)

Barny, I’m sure Alf won’t thank me for this but seeing as you asked…..

Footymad FAO Port

Sorry Alf but the legend must live on.

It is, in my opinion, one of the funniest things to ever happen on a football forum. Now, this Darren story?....

Or Don Revie.

Yeah, we're going and looking forward to it. In the seats as wife is 6 months pregnant

Hope we see some green shoots of recovery after Sat.
Good luck with the baby mate,
The kid will be at college by the time Sammon scores, judging his displays so far.
Hes like a defender pushed up top for the last 10 minutes, no nerve when in sight of the goal.
