As a new member of the forum, I just wanted to introduce myself. Some of you (Roygbiv, Beatts International, Itsinyerblood etc) will probably know me from bladesmad as I’ve been posting on there for years (I can already see the eyes rolling). Their recent “upgrade” means that every time I go on the site, it crashes my work computer so I’ve called time on the site and defected.
I’m as disappointed as everyone with Saturday. I knew our defence was poor but expected better than that. I also hoped our attacking prowess would compensate but it seems we created next to nothing. I’m hoping we bounce back sharpish and am encouraged by the signing of Edgar. I think the logical thing to do with what we have at present is shift Jay-Mac to left back (until Harris is fit) and partner Collins with Edgar. With Baxter’s injury, I’m hoping we’ll start to see James Wallace partnering Bash in the middle to make us more physically imposing. Looking at how poor Woolford looks in these early games, I’d also be tempted to put Adams on the wing (until Flynn or Done is fit) and play Sharp and Sammon up front. I do however see Che’s long term position being centre forward.
I’m not overly concerned with the cups but after a mauling on Saturday, we could really do with a morale boosting win tonight. My team would be
--------------------Howard
Freeman—Collins----Edgar—McEveley
Adams-----Wallace---Basham—Murphy
---------------Sharp----Sammon
I often advocate rotating for the cup games but I think it’s important to get the likes of Sammon and Edgar gelled into the team and to get some confidence. Anyone going tonight?
