As a new member of the forum, I just wanted to introduce myself. Some of you (Roygbiv, Beatts International, Itsinyerblood etc) will probably know me from bladesmad as I’ve been posting on there for years (I can already see the eyes rolling). Their recent “upgrade” means that every time I go on the site, it crashes my work computer so I’ve called time on the site and defected.
I’m as disappointed as everyone with Saturday. I knew our defence was poor but expected better than that. I also hoped our attacking prowess would compensate but it seems we created next to nothing. I’m hoping we bounce back sharpish and am encouraged by the signing of Edgar. I think the logical thing to do with what we have at present is shift Jay-Mac to left back (until Harris is fit) and partner Collins with Edgar. With Baxter’s injury, I’m hoping we’ll start to see James Wallace partnering Bash in the middle to make us more physically imposing. Looking at how poor Woolford looks in these early games, I’d also be tempted to put Adams on the wing (until Flynn or Done is fit) and play Sharp and Sammon up front. I do however see Che’s long term position being centre forward.
I’m not overly concerned with the cups but after a mauling on Saturday, we could really do with a morale boosting win tonight. My team would be

--------------------Howard
Freeman—Collins----Edgar—McEveley
Adams-----Wallace---Basham—Murphy
---------------Sharp----Sammon

I often advocate rotating for the cup games but I think it’s important to get the likes of Sammon and Edgar gelled into the team and to get some confidence. Anyone going tonight?

Good afternoon Dane. In answer to your question, no I'm fucking not.

Agree with all you've said 1dane.

Really thought like you we'd offer more in front at Gills and looked on in real disbelieve.

When I saw line up expected cock ups with Long in net un-nerving defence, but not on that scale.

Answer- had tics for tonight but took them back after witnessing that on Sat ! I've never done that before so read into that what you will !!

The BM mini exodus continues. Eyup, Dane.

Having spent 5 years on there religiously I must say I'm quite enjoying hopping across the two now instead of just sticking to one. Both have their unique qualities, good to get the best of both.

I'd rather wash my face in runny poo than attend a first round cup tie in Morecambe. Play the children and see what happens.

I flew the nest on Saturday from BM dane. It's gone bobbar. A defeat tonight will have some cages rattling but to me i aint bothered either way. I know we did well last season but i can't see another repeat of that.

Welcome 1danewhitehouse. I'm on the two sites now after reading BM for a few years and both have their ups and downs.
There's a few posters over on there that I agree with consistently based on how we should have approached this season and the mistakes the board and Adkins have made so far in particular so I tend to spend quite a while reading and posting on there.

You will find or might have found already that when I or any other poster express such views about mistakes the board or Adkins could have made so far, on here it's met with quite a lot of disapproval which is an interesting comparison between the two sites. A few problems have arisen since the update on BM, namely not being able to quote posts and awful episodes of extreme lag in the evenings.

I agree with your thoughts re Gillingham, nothing short of an utter disgrace for me the performance.
As regard to tonight, the cups were nothing but a distraction and an excuse to under-achieve by 20 points last season so in the back of my mind i'm hoping we get knocked out so that we can concentrate on the league. It's maybe not right on first thoughts to wish your team to lose but I honestly believe it would do the team better in the long run. After all, promotion is the aim as it has and always will be.

barny, do you go by the same name on blades mad? I don't recall your posts if so.

I can't bring myself to want us to lose any game but if we do, I will console myself with the thought that it might benefit our league objectives. Personally though, I want to see Sharp, Sammon and Adams getting amongst the goals to get them oozing confidence ahead of Chezzy.

Yeah, we're going and looking forward to it. In the seats as wife is 6 months pregnant

Hope we see some green shoots of recovery after Sat.

The continuing exodus from Bladesmad:

To the Promised Land?
To the New World?
Like refugees seeking entry from Sangatte?
Like immigrants learning a new language?

Dunno, still love Bladesmad but getting to like this place more & more (& finding love for it blossoming).

Sadly, whoever it is running Bladesmad has made it more & more impossible to use (in the name of "improvements").
Sorry S2ers but expect the swarms to keep coming...

The more the merrier... as long as you wipe your bloody feet on the way in ;)

I will keep issuing a general reminder of the rules to smooth the way - the main rule to abide by is no personal abuse. Over here, we encourage you to play the ball, not the man when responding to posts.

You're the boss, Linz. And admirable policy.

Got to say I've seen plenty of poster-to-poster abuse on here though, just of a different sort than you'd get over on Bladesmad. Think it's fair to say it's more "earthy" over there. :D

Welcome aboard 1DW

You will find that the users on here are much nicer to get on with - well, most of em anyway :D

Also you posted this in the wrong area you $#1t - Oops forgot for a mo that it was nice on here ;)

Have fun mate!

Welcome over, I made the move ages ago due to sign in problems and the general standard of posts on BM. One thing a like here is generally there's one thread per subject, whereas on BM there can be loads all saying the same thing.
Also best of all is the Shoutbox. If you can't make the match join the banter on Shoutbox. I think last Sat saw the 1st "Adkins out" post.

You're welcome 1danewhitehouse - decent poster as are most of the BM defectors

You can tag people on here as well ;)

Len's already nailed his colours to the mast, Rob. To quote him: "Shame this site [Bladesmad] has become so poor to use though it is likely to retain the most valuable, insightful Blades poster of all, for the timebeing." :D

Curt's just droning on about how "uninspiring" a signing Edgar is, without a care in the world.

Welcome to the forum :)

Just on the way up to Morecambe as I type.

So I won't read any personal abuse towards other posters on here? My, that will take some getting used to.

What about if someone threatened to harm you, say, in a car park behind Argos? Would that be tolerated?

Just asking on behalf of Alfreton14Blade so he feels nice and safe.

You tinker, Thomas!

Thought we'd pinkie-sworn never to mention THAT incident ever again!

Hi ya Dane lad (and other new BM members)

I've posted on both boards for some time and gotta say.........................they're all bankers on this board! :D

Seriously tho, the new BM format is utter shite. This board is laid out far better and much more user friendly thanks to Foxy and Linz (are there any other mods?)

Welcome anyway buddy
