Hecky and Stuey McCall

Well, in principle I would always welcome back "Hecky, Jack and Stuart McCall" because I really enjoyed that promotion season under them.

Funnily enough though, I seem to remember half of the posters on here moaning about how shit the football was back then and how it was the "least exciting promotion ever" - a phrase that was said over and over.

The same voices (and a few more) were then having a go at Wilder Ball 2 last season. "Shit football" "Like watching paint dry", "False position" blah blah blah.

And now after one game under a new manager, with a completely different and attacking philosophy, half of the same fanbase are still lamenting over losing Wilder, and now we are talking about bringing back the guy he replaced, who initially replaced him. You couldn't make this shit up really.

I love this club, and reckon I would get on with most of you over a pint. But I am sorry to say that we often come across collectively as a fanbase with a very limited horizon.

If we're not top of the championship by the end of next weekend, I'd bring in Dean Hammond as manager and Higdon as assistant. We need ex blades managing us. On a serious note, are we the only club who feel we can only do well if we bring back previous connections to manage us?

Wouldn't be the worst decision in the world to bring them back if we're still bottom by September.
I hope some of you lot posting aren't married?

Married on Saturday, first argument Sunday, divorced on Monday.

I didn't particularly think Selles was a good appointment (not that my opinion counts for anything), but fuck me give the guy a chance.

to be fair it’s a better shout than bringing wilder back.

Give Adkins & Clough a bell just in case.

I love a good Indian takeaway. Why not replace Selles with Tony Currie as manager with Jamal Campbell-Ryce as his assistant? Both ex blades players. We could get Rajput as shirt sponsors.

Lost one game. Deary me.

This is a fair comment.
Though I am a little uneasy.
As I understand it our owners want an AI stats based approach to player acquisitions. I can see the logic to that. But based on the stats, on Saturday we were superior to Bristol City in almost everything and should have won the game comfortably. The actual performance on the pitch and the balance between the two sides in real actual playing time was somewhat different. I think even our most blinkered supporters would concede that Bristol City deserved their win.
Stats are helpful, but they don't tell the whole story.

For the avoidance of doubt, I don't want him back, but it is worth pointing out, that he is one of only 3 managers in the division, wiho have won promotion to the PL (the other 2 are Jone and McKenna).

Get Struber in. Knows how to defend and hit teams on the break.
