Hopefully by the the time we open our Championship campaign we have a new owner and Rosenior in place.
After failing to sell when we were on the way up , I can't see a new owner coming in on our way down - the prince won't drop his price enough to reflect our fall in value

If you're reading this Chris, thanks for the memories, well most of them, but let's leave the past behind.

There really is a potential bright future for this club away from 'local managers that get the club'

Slav not working out is really not a reason to stick with Wilder, Warnock et al....and you can pipe down at the back....Billy really isn't ready.

We ought to change our name to Royston Vasey FC the way some go off.

If that change did happen (not saying it should) would people suggest keeping McCall & Lester or do we look at new appointments across the coaching set-up?

Wouldn’t be surprised if we keep them all or Hecky at least and he reverts to his old role

It’s painful. The second things don’t sit right we have elements calling for a return to when it did rather than look to move forward..

Real life equivelent of hitting save on champ manager before a big game and going back to it if you lose.

This is what I love about our supporters, if we win the next couple of games ,
He'll be the best thing since sliced Bread.....

Depends how desperate we are.

We have seen with our own eyes that Chris can perform miracles, todays team that’s just been beaten 8-0 is individually better than Chris’s team.
Still hard to believe that such basic players could outplay the likes of Arsenal and Spurs on their own patch, also totally outclass Man Utd in the 1st half
and be challenging (we were 4 points behind 4th position) for a Champions League spot playing attacking possession football.

It’s, without doubt, the best manager we’ve had in the 50 years I’ve been watching.
His rise from bottom of league 1 to challenging for a Champions League spot in 4 years is up there with Brian Clough type achievement.

Good point about “getting away from local hero’s/ managers”.
It is weird, when ever we try, highly rated exciting (big name) managers promising good football, it never seems to work.
Where as when we have “muck and nettles”, tell it how it is, pashunate managers like Bassett, Warnock and Wilder.
It hits a note with the fanbase and we do well. Another point is Robson and Slav changed our style to a passing, control possesion team
but we were copying Swansea style, looked good, but the passing was too slow and we struggled to create chances.
Reverted back to Blackwell and Hecky, playing a quicker more direct, long ball style and our fans loved it.

Regards Hecky, he’s average/ OK (that’s not meant as an insult or negative) but safe with no tantrums, no drama, just gets on with the job.
Think we need to stick with Hecky for as long as possible, but obviously he must be held accountable if performances are still poor.
Seen comments about how we’re doing well because we’re only losing by 1 goal.
However for me, it’s the way we are losing that’s a big concern.
Check the stats, possession, shots, corners all suggest most matches are attack versus defence training sessions.
We‘re better than that and should be giving teams a better game.

Under Wilder all the players could make short passes to feet, they were well drilled and played to a set formation.
This team don’t have a set style of play and have spells where we can’t string 3 passes together, it’s embarrassing, what do the players practice in training?
Also the massive lack of effort by almost every player in the 2nd half against Newcastle is a bigger issue than we think.
It possibly shows that the players have zero respect for Hecky.…where was the motivation? so we’ll see how the players react over the next few matches.
Not too concerned about the results…for me even if we lose….it’s possible I’ll still support Hecky
I’m more interested in the overall performance, the effort and starting tactics and substitutions.

In my view Hecky is currently a 6 out of 10 manager, looking very likely we’ll be relegated if we keep him.
Bringing in Wilder could at best be 9 out of 10, meaning we easily stay up or
at worse a 2 out of 10 because Wilders emotion/ passion is great when things are going well but turns toxic when things are bad
and I’m not sure which is more likely, probably edging towards 4 out of 10,
so I do have reservations but with Wilder his record of performing miracles suggests we could rise up that table.

Regards decisions we can’t sack Hecky unless we have a replacement immediately lined up.
Also Hecky has done enough to deserve a decent chance, glad he wasn’t sacked after the Newcastle match, that would have been stupid knee-jerk
but he is under pressure and needs to show signs that we’re heading in the right direction.

Wilder spent £48m, Heckingbottom has spent £64m (figures taken from transfermrkt.com).

Yes Heckingbottom lost his best player and Berge, but let's not pretend he hasn't been given cash to replace them. Wilder also lost one of his most important players in Duffy, that meant he had to reshape the team.

Edit: Those figures should be Euros, but it makes no difference to the point.

You can't take the transfer spend without the incomings.

Wilder summer 2019:
Out £0
In Osborn £3m, Freeman £4m, Robinson £4.5m, Mousset £6m, McBurnie £17m (total £34.5m)
Net -£34.5m

Heckingbottom summer 2023
Out Berge £15m, Ndiaye £20m (total £35m)
In Thomas, Larouci (loans, est £1m each), Traoré £4m, Trusty £5m, Souza £8m, Hamer £12m, Archer £18m (total £49m)
Net -£14m

Big difference.

The Fact is the last game Chris Wilder had with fans in the stadium we were 7/8th in the premier league

Bring him home

Id like to see what the results are now , that poll is from before the 8-0 when the rumour came out

id say itll be a lot closer to 50/50 now

bet it wouldn't and besides, you can change your vote as some have, it was about 96% originally

The biggest thing to take out of the Newcastle game was we offered nothing. We capitulated. No matter what team we’ve had in the past we have always battled.

The hardest thing to take is we have supposedly signed some talented players in Hamer, sousa and we have Anel.
These three could be the main difference for us but that day I saw nothing from them.
No strength, wild passing, no creativity.
Our striker/s got nothing and our defence smashed to pieces.

If Hecky can’t get these three playing consistently well we are done for.
