We won't get the same pedigree of player as most Premier league teams because our wage structure is miles apart. Yes we do need to compete, we did last season but strength in depth of squads is showing now. We lose first choice targets then take a chance on second, third, fourth choice. You might have hit on something regarding scouting .I have for sometime cast doubts on how we find our targets when it comes to recruiting and our scouting staff.Bearing in mind that CW has not always got the man he wants because of having his hands tied behind his back because of the wages structure the club has.I think changing some of the scouting staff could have an effect.Looking at clubs like Brentford who have no trouble selling all their best players every year and finding other gems the day after who look just as good as the one they sold.Their top scout would be worth his weight in gold to a club like ours ,he turns up with gems every year .

Ours looks absolute shit in comparison.
