TONY CURRIE | United’s greatest ever player appointed as a director of the football club

Good- not had an actual football man in the boardroom since Dooley. Not saying TC is going to be running the club or owt daft, but a genuine football man who knows and cares for the club as a voice in the boardroom is no bad thing, especially in these times.

Hopefully this and the return of Wilders trusted mate (his name escapes me- Bettis?) will allow Wilder to get on with the job rather than having to wade into the squabbling owners.

FFS Tony , keep the radio Sheffield commentary what ever you do !

Unveiled at the Swansea game, in the middle of the pitch with Sinclairsy and he takes the mask off to reveal it was the Prince all along.

"I've got you now McCabe! I own you now"

It's an excellent decision. We've been looking for a footballing man to be on the SUFC board for a while now (probably since Dooley moved on) and he's someone who cares dearly for the football club.

He will be there to remind the money men if needed, about the requirements on the pitch and that can only be a good thing.

Clever decision.

His continued association with the club keeps him fresh in the memory of many of our fans. He's a living legend who's presence can only be positive for the club when in our case there's invariably a heap of shit flying around.. I still get a bit giddy when I see him outside the entrance or wherever. Not many clubs at our level have someone like him rocking up every week for the best part of 50 years. What's not to like.

No greasy chip butty back in those days but the corus to this Limmie & Family Cookin song was belted out on the old tannoy system before each game. Oh the memories.

He rocks up every week because the club pay him.

I love and respect Tony , and I was lucky enough to see him play , but the man for me is/was and always will be ALAN WOODWARD , one club man, a proper man , footballer , we will never see the likes of him again . RIP Alan , never forgotten .
