Not the sort of player we need at all and he's not as good as Henderson.
Like someone else kindly pointed out before (and which I suspected), Henderson has a better goalscoring record in this league than Hulse and a far better record for us. yet one is slated and one is revered? Madness.

There would be little point signing him when he's a similar type of player to Henderson though! Slightly better or slightly worse, either way there's no point.
His better goalscoring record means goals to games ratio (only just though) so you can't get much a more accurate measure than that.
I think Henderson is better in the air and scores more, Hulse is better with the ball at his feet.
We've made a late bid to try and scupper a move to Burnley.
(The rumour is from a Derby fan on 365 FWIW)
That isn't true though is it?
Plus the majority of Hulses appearances for us were in the Premiership not Championship can you break it down? For me Hulse is by far the superior player.
I agree with the first part. There is no point carrying both.
If its goals to games ratio then fair play I wont argue with that, even though it does surprise me a little.
I think its debatable as to which player is better in the air. I think they're both very strong in that department. Hulse is definately better on the deck there's no doubt about that. I suppose it then comes down to style of play and who suits a system. At the moment we play to Hendo's strengths and not Hulse's. But I very much doubt Henderson could produce a better level of performance in the Premier League than Hulse did. That's what makes Hulse better for me - having said that, we're not in that league so thats an irrelevant point as far as United are concerned.

I'll try and find the post for you, somebody worked out their respective goalscoring records in the championship.

Very close but some people seem to think the two are miles apart.
Oh dear, oh dear. I think you are probably the only United fan in the world who thinks Henderson is better than Hulse.
I seem to remember us debating this before. I put on a link to a poll where about 20% of United fabs said they though Hulse was the best striker at the Lane since deane left in 93. Hendo wasn't on the list (and one person complained).
Hulse is better by a country mile.
At last, someone is talking sense!
Hulse is as good in the air and as strong as Henderson. He can play on the deck and is very dangerous. I think he is an all round better player than Hendo and every aspect of his game is better.
I don't hate Hendo and I think he could be an asset. Sadly KB has a knack of getting the worst out of players and Hendo has suffered. Plus our not very talented try hard players are always tempted to lumpo it to him and hence our style of play worsens with him in the team.
Back to the point, I would be over the moon if we re-singed Hulse (although I can't see it happening).
you mean the season where he'd just come back from (rushed back from) a career threatening injury?
post-leg break...Hendo as the more effective CCC player

henderson better than hulse!have a lie down pal and read war and peace this summer.christ
Up to the leg break, Hulse was playing very well and looked like becoming a very accomplished PL striker. Prior to that Chelsea game there was talk of being on stand-by for England etc.
Since the break he's never really got close to being the player he was in that season.
pre-leg break...Hulse by some distance
post-leg break...Hendo as the more effective CCC player
