Is there a reason he was blowing out his arse after about 50 mins, has his many brushes with covid done his fitness in?. Thought he did OK tonight, might even say he had a good game. But I've never seen a player make running look so hard and look absolutely knackered after making about 3 very slow runs. Have to say I was mesmerised at how long he took to run back to his own half after we scored, he's made slow running an artform. It's like his legs are moving but just not taking him anywhere. Anyway well done Olly on a solid 7 out of 10 performance before your body gave up on you.

Nowt professional about hoofing the ball for the last 20 minutes a better team would have done us
don't get it
We keep 10 clean sheets in last 15 games. but a better side would have beaten us

where's the logic

We have let in 2 goals at home in 2022
but you seem to think a Middlesboro would have beaten us ....how come they didn't and forest didn't only just got a point

some. arguments in here are built on poor foundations

Heckingbottom doesn't know what losing at home is

let's try and celebrate that instead of the mealy mouthed begrudging of our efforts

McBurnie did well. He was fucked after about 20 mins but then got a second wind.

He needs to not get so wound up for so long at not being given a free kick though. He pissed the ref off moaning and then was never likely to get anything.

For the team cause Mcburnie as been excellent well done lad 👍👍👍
For me - our worst ever signing - I was happy when the deal was done ... but the lad has been shite ... it is hard not to get in the Scotland squad but he has managed it. Sadly another "Billy Big Boots" - big money too soon. If TBF he reads this... Mcburnie - you are a young lad still , you can turn it around - hard work

Had a good game, good to see. Can't blame him for not scoring as had no real opportunity to.

Ok mcbernie has been poor that's obvious to even a blind man,he was up for it tonight though and gave the defenders plenty to think about.,until he ran out of steam and substituted.
Play like that every match and the fans wil love him not had mu ch football this season due to different problems.
I reckon Hecki sent him out there to upset QPR and it worked ! Not ready for a really focused McBurnie.
Worked his bolloxs off 1st half so I wernt surprised he had gone by 60 minutes, well done Ollie that.
More of the same Saturday

No agenda- Its a 6 for me- thought Jebbo was way better (until he looked like he pulled something) - it would have been 5 but for his defensive stuff which was good.

I've seen this view a few times. I thought Jebbison was dreadful (again). He looks out of his depth at this level and can't keep up with play. He doesn't show for the ball, nor provide any outlet. I, personally, would loan him out again next season. Still looks raw and physically lacking.

McBurnie, as poor as he is from a goal-threat sense, at least looks at ease in open play. Drops deep, links play a bit and offers something defensively. Sure, we need more (a goal threat!) but he at least contributed positively and is physically capable.

I'm still intrigued by Osula. As a 20 minute cameo-man, I think he could be a major headache for defenders with his explosive pace and power (reminds me of Mousset in style).
But if our options are the two aforementioned strikers then McBurnie wins hands down.

McBurnie is not good enough end of… £20 million on a striker that does not score goals or pose any sort of goal threat.

The attempts coming out of the club to ‘big him up’ are embarrassing.

He’s sick but wants to play, he’s injured but wants to play, that chip to Billy was why we paid the money… blah, blah, blah… strikers score goals end of.

I would honestly play him at CB

I thouggt Jebbo was poor and his lack of experience showed when he came on. He occasionally closed down but it was noticable how much less pressure their defence was under for the last 20 mins as we werent holding the ball up. He also didnt make himself available as an outlet.
I thought McBurnie was a 6 out of 10 also but Jebbi a 3 or 4

Don’t get carried away because no goals since 2020 so what a complete waste of money shocking

while we are so stretched in defence at the moment McB is bolstering our defence as much as holding it up front
I think he deserves an 8 for doing so much for the entire team and Jebbs a 5 or 6

Mcburnie was very good first half and faded in the second, 7/10 performance. Won so many headers, many of which were passed to MGW and helped retain possession.

For people comparing that to Jebbo's 20mins, it's not even close. Jebbo didn't win headers, held it up less and pressed at the wrong times. He runs fast though...

Jebbo didn’t cost £18M

Some people just make their mind up about players don't they 🤬

Girl behind me last night, about 12 i'd say...

"Mcburnies playing OK actually"

Her dad.. "what's he done that's good?"

"He's not done anything wrong"

"But what's he done right?"

Then when he missed the header...

Dad: "absolutely no power at all that bloke"

She goes: "It was hard to get any power from that kind of cross"

12yo knowing more about footy than her dad 🤣

Still can't see any rationale with this 'Emperor's New Clothes' approach with McBurnie. Pound for pound, is he any better than say, Chris Porter, Craig Beattie or Ashley Ward as a striker? He shows faint glimmers of capability, nice touch or backheel and in defence he's pretty solid. But leading the line, being a target man, making their defence work fucking hard and getting a shot or header on goal he's miles behind what we need. And for fuck's sake Oliver ... grow the fuck up. Officials aren't fucking stupid. Make their job difficult and any 50/50 you profess to win with regard free kicks, throws, corners etc will definitely go the other way. Get out of the officials' faces, for fucks sake. Stop scrauming about on the deck with your fucking arms in the air screaming blue murder. Act like a tough centre forward and battle. The way he acts is embarrassing stuff. There's a fine line of what you will get away with and what you won't and he needs to learn where that line is.

One of the problems with the way we play is that it isn't McBurnie's game. He is used to a pretty vanilla but effective 4-4-2 whereby he shit-lines and feeds off chances and crosses rather than 5-3-2 where he has to drop to receive and work to create. He's not good at that. Were I Hecky my brief to him would be to drop no further than where MGW is. Any deeper and their backline gets their mobile phones out to play Wordle. the midfield threeand the wingbacks need to be focussed on him and MGW singularly and he barely needs to touch any ball outside our final third except when defending or carrying it forward. I've no doubt McBurnie is a good centre forward. It's just that I don't think he is suited at Sheffield United and he also needs to drop the shithousing ... and become a 90 minute man like MGW was last night.

pommpey

Same could easily be said of Baldock. Particularly at Stoke when things weren't going well for us.
