Sadly seems the case that some on here will find whatever they can to whine about. And when nothing is left then find a 'whatif' and whine about that. I will enjoy the current good news and rub my hands in anticipation of the successes to come. :):):)

Wait for "when the Maguire etc money has run out he (insert name of player) will be sold in the summer".

I don't know of anybody who is "willing Fleck to be sold" ........ but I know of quite a few people who will be very relieved if we get through the transfer window with only Whiteman, Hanson, Long, Henegan and perhaps Lavery & Carruthers going out !!

UTB & FTP

Let's hope we don't have to find out,but if he doesn't go this January, the McCabe haters come February 1st will be claiming he will be sold this summer

Fair points, but I would take issue with you saying that Rangers are the size and structure of Aston Villa. They are far bigger than that. In fact they are potentially one of the world`s biggest clubs in terms of support, but, as you highlight, they suffer the economic realities of Scottish football.

It was often said that in pre-Sky days that Rangers were the biggest/richest club in the UK. In fairness they were buying up English talent right, left and centre at that time. Around 1990 Man U were up for sale and it would have taken only £10m to buy a controlling interest and it was only thanks to the associates Michael Knighton mingled with that he fucked up in his bid. I believe Owen Oyston of Blackpool fame was one of his partners. That would have been mighty interesting if it had ever come off, definitely would have changed the history of premier league football and we would be watching a different game now. And Rangers might still be ruling the roost.

It's a bit late to ask being as how you've already got the the 'Hillmorton Blade' name and have made nearly 6k posts in the last 3 years, but I'll put it to the Committee.

Just wait there a bit.
it’s the name of the dog silly :)
why us then HB??

Makes you wonder why we’ve signed Leonard, Evans, Holmes, when we have Fleck, Duffy, Coutts (admittedly unavailable), Lundstram, Basham, Brooks, Carruthers and God knows who else competing for a midfield jersey.

Hope Fleck isn’t going anywhere. Him and Coutts have been the engine of our midfield and it’s that partnership which is worth even more than the sum of the parts.

Got a feeling Fleck’s going, god hope not, our best player! Forshaw rumour on sky sports now

I'll stand corrected. As daft as it sounds I reckon that I always subconsciously compare them due to their main stand & villa's holte end.

That'd be Archibald Leitch who designed stands at (among others) Ibrox and Villa Park and...

His first project in England was the design and building of the John Street Stand at Bramall Lane, which provided 3,000 seats and terracing for 6,000 and was dominated by a large mock-Tudor press box.

If Fleck goes for 8/10 million there's not a lot we can complain about ....he's our bst player ...who produces week in week out ....hope he doesn't go ...but 10 million ..treble his wages ..premiership football ....? I for one wouldn't blame him for going ...let's hope he has a shocker at Norwich ...and we win .....so he doesn't go ...

Nobody in their right mind supporting us from afar can be called a glory hunter but my point still stands, that football would be the better for fans supporting their local club. It's not just contained within countries any more, the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juve and Man Utd make astonishing sums from the Far East, and their 'supporters' there need to ask themselves wouldn't their support be better directed to a local side, benefitting their local economy and enriching their domestic league?

Chengdu Blades ?

I do have an uncomfortable feeling that one of the 'vulnerable'premiership clubs will make an offer for Fleck before the end of the month,i think we have to be prepared.Unfortunately, the temptation would be difficult for the player to refuse,we are all aware of the sort of wages premiership players command,he has a lengthy contract with us,so if it did happen we should be able to negotiate a substantial fee, probably in the region of £5m.I am sure that our continued interest in Sam Morsy is probably true, purely as a 'safety net' should the worst happen,i have a feeling that we are preparing ourselves for an unwanted approach.............'Carlos' ?

That’s more like it. We’ll have a mass panic attack in no time. Step it up Blades. Anyone for a McCabe or Princey liberally sprinkled with fax paper?
