Harvey Gilmour will do really well at Tranmere.

Hopefully he gets plenty of game time. Very lively and works his socks off.

Really pleased to see the 19 year olds starting to play first team football.

Hi all,

Just to say that Gilmour is starting to find his feet at Tranmere, had a slowish start where he had glimpses but then by his own admission was learning the realities of first team football, however he has come on in the last 2 games for us against decent sides and transformed the game both times and is now expected to get a run of starts beginning Saturday

I have seen the last 2 games he has played for us and you have a real player there, good on the ball, creating chances and getting forward

Been really impressed considering his age

Great to hear that mate. Thanks for the update.
My wife grew up a rovers fan. We made a point of making the trip in recent years when the Blades went there in L1. Think she found it a bit wierd to be back in the cowshed! Which used to be for Home fans did it not?
Anyway, glad to see you back in the leagues. Good luck.

Good to hear Happy is starting to show what he is all about.
He needs games. Sitting on the bench is no good for the lad.

I think once he gets in the starting 11 he will be hard to replace.

2 Good goals today and a mom performance from him

He is going to be a real player

Seen a lot of loan players over the years but he has something

I know this sounds daft as he’s our player, but what role does he play for you guys? Any particular strengths?

Chuffed to bits for him he’s a great kid fantastic attitude great desire works hard and gives it everything

And a nice assist from a set piece delivery. Great to see him do well. UTB

Harvey Gilmour waited for his chance and it looks like he has taken it.

Really pleased for the lad.

Micky Mellon. :)

Anyway... By the sound of it we might look to loan HG out in league 1 before making a call on his future. Hope he has more success than Ben Whiteman.

It's getting harder and harder for our Academy graduates to make it at the Lane as the better we get the higher the standards they need to aspire to .

Ben Whiteman has been a success imo . Ok, he's not made it here but we got a fee for him and he's now earning a living as a proffessional footballer .

And let's face facts here, out of the current crop who are all out on loan right now, we will be very lucky if 1 possibly 2 make it here at the Lane . Hopefully though the ones that don't make it here make a living out of the game elsewhere and we'll get a bit of cash back for them .

Hi all

Just a quick update, we are apparently set to sign Gilmour on a permanent deal next week

Have to say if it happens I am very surprised as he is a real prospect

We have not got much money so assume it will be a small fee + large sell on fee

Suppose we are on a completely different planet right now with as good yet younger prospects. We let a lad called Ben Whiteman go to Donny last year after scoring 8 goals or something from midfield - this isn’t a surprise at all.

It may well have a buy back clause and sell on fitted. Best of luck to the lad I think he’ll have a career at league 1 at least.

Hope you're wrong, thought he played well last night.

I think we sent McEveley, Higdon, and James Wallace your way.

We owe you :).

He was OK but if he wasn’t ours I don’t think anyone would be saying we should sign him. He could be another Hamilton and look decent in three years but we’d be paying him during that time. It’s a difficult call. I hope he has a good career, as I do with all our academy lads.
