How much have Clarke and Gilchrist cost in his place? And £6m down the pan.
Made even worse by the fact that we had arguably the best right back in the league, and sold him to our main rivals.
If we'd told Leeds to fuck off that might have been the couple of points swing that got us promoted.
Not looking such a great deal now.Have you a memory problem?
Bogle has similarities to Sereki but he’s not as athletic. Bogle was good for us in the Championship and looked good going forward but in defence he always struggled. He was a big flop in the PL and looked out of his depth, altho all the defence was poor.
Getting 6 million for him was a great deal for us for someone near the end of their contract. Also had doubts about Bogles mentality, when the going got tough his head dropped and he lost interest.
You think selling your right back to your promotion rivals, when you don't have another one as good is a great deal?Have you a memory problem?

Bit revisionist, we didn't want to sell him he demanded to go and given his injury record and his half arsed attitude in his time here it was the right decisionYou think selling your right back to your promotion rivals, when you don't have another one as good is a great deal?
£6m might have been a great deal if we'd sold him to a mid-table side after we'd replaced him, but that's not what happened.
We haven't had a proper right back all season and that's obviously cost us points.

Rewriting history won't change those facts
It paid for Burrows and more importantly Cooper. With Wes still in the net we don't even make the playoffs let alone push for autos. Not looking such a great deal now.
Better for us or Leeds?Maybe so, but I was responding to a post stating that RB has been a problem all season, and however you dress it up, that looks worse when we sold one that's better than anyone who's played there for us all season.
If you assume keeping him would have Improved the situation which it probably wouldn't give the historical evidenceMaybe so, but I was responding to a post stating that RB has been a problem all season, and however you dress it up, that looks worse when we sold one that's better than anyone who's played there for us all season.
I know he wanted to leave. It paid for Burrows and more importantly Cooper. With Wes still in the net we don't even make the playoffs let alone push for autos.
The 'deal' is irrelevant though, as he wanted to leave.
Unlucky?Inconsistent and missed a chunk of games at a crucial time of the season, Clarke is just one of those signings we got unlucky with and it didn't help that Gilchrist was injured at the same time.
RB and RW have been problem positions for us all season (everywhere else we've been fine), as out of 4 RB's (Seriki, Gilchrist, Clarke and Choudhury), not one them has managed to hold the position all season, either through form or injury.
Same with BBD, Brooks and JRS at RW, none of them have managed to make the position their own this season.
In contrast, Cooper, Hamer, Campbell, Burrows, Peck, Souttar (when he has here) and Anel have all made their respective positions their own this season.
2 positions that will definitely need addressing in the summer.
Wait.. Clarkes injured again?Unlucky?
Stfu, this was a disgraceful signing, it's on Wilder and he should be sacked now Clarke's out injured.
He was fit when he arrived. Injuries happen, surely. I don't see how it's a disgraceful signing.Unlucky?

But Wilder must have known he had feet that could get injured, right? Probably forced him to play through the injury that made it worse as well.He was fit when he arrived. Injuries happen, surely. I don't see how it's a disgraceful signing.
Wow. Delusional. So one bad signing is enough to sack a manager. GutlessBut Wilder must have known he had feet that could get injured, right? Probably forced him to play through the injury that made it worse as well.
Whatever way you look at it, Wilder is 100% to blame and needs to go.
Don't think I can possibly ramp up the sarcasm any more...Wow. Delusional. So one bad signing is enough to sack a manager. Gutless
Don't think he's injured right now, point I made in my initial post was that he'd missed quite a few games with injury, Gilchrist was injured and went back to Chelsea for treatment around the same time.Wait.. Clarkes injured again?
According to CW in Burnley presser (haha) Clarke is back at Ipswich injured out for the rest of the season.Don't think he's injured right now, point I made in my initial post was that he'd missed quite a few games with injury, Gilchrist was injured and went back to Chelsea for treatment around the same time.
Pretty sure Gilchrist is back from injury now as well, but one of either him or Clarke have to miss out due to the loan limit.
Ah right, I've not seen his presser.According to CW in Burnley presser (haha) Clarke is back at Ipswich injured out for the rest of the season.
It is on here !! Done after the Cardiff gameAh right, I've not seen his presser.
Only injury team news I saw on Sky concerned Arblaster and Shackleton.
Cannon showed he has goals in him. A poacher and a finisher if we play to his strength. Needs to play off a target man. I'd argue BBD a net negative. We were a better team before the Xmas break. The injuries to Arblaster and Souttar proved critical and what happened to Brooks? He seems to have just disappeared. The January window wasn't that great in retrospect. Souza's form has also dipped dramatically not helped by injury of course. There's a loss of belief and flatness about our play. It's hard to see how we turn it around. So Jan consisted of:
Clarke: Did little now injured
Choudhury: Very hit & miss so far
Holding: Barely had a kick for whatever reason
BBD: Hit & miss but I would say a net positive all in all
Cannon: Absolute disaster
Not a great way to start things with the new owners money is it?
Happy for Cannon today. BBD is now becoming incredibly wasteful.Cannon showed he has goals in him. A poacher and a finisher if we play to his strength. Needs to play off a target man.
