Heard this last week. That move kind of suits him at the moment. A player and a club who are on the decline. I expected a lot from Harper when he signed for us but as most know he was ultimately disappointing. I got the impression that he is the kind of player who looks good in a good team and has probably peaked anyway.

I dont think he's the kind of player who is going to get a side playing better. He's one to have if you have good players making runs in and around him, hence my suggestion that he needs to be in a good side. Hull wont get the best out of him unless they sign some good wide men and a decent forward.

They must be getting some kind of tax relief for employing the elderly, infirm and past their best. They are also linked with Nobby Salano who first came on the scene about 15 years ago.

No doubt they will prove me wrong - as Harper did last year. I thought swapping him for Howard was genius at the time - however, watching him waving his arms at the game as it went past I went from hopeful to despairing very quickly.

I agree with all of that Lou. Harper was a massive disappointment. I was very pleased when we signed him, but he flooped big time. After 7 or 8 games he seemed to be getting his fitness back and looked like he might show the Harper of old. However he was then annonymous for the rest of the season. BUT, i'll be watching this with interest. IF Harper starts to play well and shows some of the form of old it will highlight issues with Blackwell, his mangement style and the tactics he played. If Harper starts passing the ball well, scoring goals and upping the energy of Hull then we'll be looking at KB to say why he couldn't do that with us. Similarly if Britton flops at the Blades because the ball is being pumped over his head week in week out then we'll also be looking at the manager. If both happen then it will be beyond doubt. Harper had his chance at the Lane and blew it though. He talked a good game, but failed to come up with the goods. He will stick out in my mind only for his air traffic/runway control signals in the centre circle!?
