3 brilliant results for us :)
Obviously 2 rivals lose points and Wednesday will now come into Mondays game brimming with confidence and full of attacking intent because of their recent glorious victories (no hiding behind the corner flags this time)
Any thoughts that we (fans or players) had that this was going to be a walk-over are surely banished as it will be a real contest.
Up to the players now to turn up for the game and for the fans to steer clear of the Deludomol.
This should be a cracking derby - if we are the best team in Sheffield (and real promotion contenders) Monday will be the game to prove it!

UTB!!

We are the best team in Sheffield and real promotion contenders. I’ve had a word with the league table, who confirmed both propositions. It’s already proven, whatever may happen on Monday.

I might be missing something but why are people saying we'll be out of the top 2 by Monday?

If WBA beat Leeds on Friday we're still 2nd...

It's not like we need a load of games to go in our favour, Leeds are starting to flag and WBA will be looking for a response to the loss to us. We could lose the derby and go into the game against the Millers still in 2nd, while Leeds would have to be Bristol away.

Best case scenario, Leeds lose to WBA and Bristol, we beat Wednesday and Rotherham. We're then on 70 points with Leeds still on 64. That would also put WBA on 63, 64 or 66 (Beat Leeds and Lose, Draw or Win at Ipswich).

If Wednesday get in the play offs from here with the run in they have then they'll deserve it because they will have likely won at least 8 of their last 12 from the likes of Norwich, Leeds, Bristol City, Derby, Preston, Forest, Villa and us .

If we were playing Hull on Monday people wouldn't be saying it's a must win. It's not a 6 pointer in terms of league positions and it's only the emotion of the game that makes it special. I'd rather draw against Wednesday and beat Leeds.

It patently isn’t a “must win game”. The prizes are won on the basis of 46 games. There has never been a ‘must win’ game in early March. The suggestion is manifest drivel.

I had a word with the league table on 26/12/79. It said we were top and pigs 5th. We were the best team for that fixture..............apparently.

You’ve just won the world long-distance point-missing championship. I’m not saying we will win on Monday. I’m saying it makes no difference to the two unassailable propositions that we are the better team and are real promotion contenders.

Seriously, the results aren't even close. Leeds was the big one, the piggy one was completely irrelevant.

Why do we care if they're only 6 points from the playoffs, we're playing for automatics, totally different ball game. They're on the radar for 5 days only, post Monday, we'll go back to concentrating on autos irrespective of the result.

I usually have a dream/premonition before the derby games I did last night and it wasn't good 0-2 for the pigs. I just hope it was their score from last night that was on my mind, bit of a downer from the night before where I was trying to find a football ground somewhere in Holland to see the Blades. Does this mean we lose the derby but still go up and challenge for Europe next season
I had a dream Reading beat us 2-1.I was playing for the Blades and went to the boozer at halftime’like You do’ and me and another unspecified player got lost on the way back to the ground and we had to play with 9 men.Wilder was’nt appeh.
Actual scoreline 4-0.

I know what you are saying. I’m holding off the footballing Gods one handedly here and you aren’t helping.:eek:

Apparently last night, was the best Wendy have played since they made the play-off final, according to the imbeciles that support them at work, they are getting very confident already.

I think this is fantastic - I really do!

There’s no better time to be going into a derby than when the opposition are feeling cocky about their prospects. I’m really glad they’re unbeaten under Bruce. I was pleased they won again v Brentford.

Why?

The higher the pride (and the boasting - which let’s face it, they are far supperior to us at), the more satisfying it will be when we put them in their place.

I don’t wish to spoil their curly-tailed fun, but it’s only fair I point out that this “unbeaten” run consists of 1 victory against a team that haven’t won an away game since 1705 (slight exaggeration) 1 game v the bottom (definitely relegated) club and the rest are against the bottom half-dozen!

They may find us a tad different?

I do hope I haven’t spoiled the surprise?

Of course. I should have realised from past experience...

Do carry on.

Thank you. You'll appeciate it in the end. You stick to chasing dinosaurs and I'll do the really dangerous unseen stuff with the Gods. :(
