Morning Blades & Happy Father's Day.

Mrs GB surprised me this morning with a little something Blades related and thought I'd show it off & see what else you'd received that's Blades related.
Apparently, this is a seat from the South Stand at BDTBL. Not sure if it's one of the original seats from the new South Stand OR one of the seats from the Pavilion demolished to make way for the South Stand. But it's a little bit of Blades history now in my back garden.
Don't know if it's rare or not. Don't even know if it's definitely from BDTBL or not. But I'm claiming it's both.
To all Dad's out there - whether you're still with us or not - Happy Father's Day!!

I’ve got one of those and mine is definitely from the South Stand when they swapped the wooden seats for th plastic ones, so I would say that yours is too. And that’s a great present. Small SV got me a Waterstones voucher, presumably so when we next go she can spend it for me. :D

I've got number 136, twice (number has disappeared from one though) Not sure which rows they are from but they are definitely the original wooden seats from the 'new' South Stand.

Enjoy, UTB

My old man died 5 years ago, so this day is always a bit sad for me.

Although I used to get him an expensive bottle of single-malt whisky every year, so at least I can save a few quid now.

Every cloud and all that.

Sorry to hear about that Bashar. My old man’s been gone 30 years this year & still a thought provoking day.
I’d give owt to clink glasses with him once more. Cheers Dads!

Buy a Blades-related book with it :D

I am a teacher in bushmills and many of my former pupils work in the distillery. Hope you enjoy your gift.

It's guaranteed! Beautiful part of the world, we stayed in a cottage just outside Bushmills a couple of summers ago. Coastline was magnificent and a trip to Rathlin Island and Derry made for a really special week. :)

Went up to the family grave today at woodhouse cemetary to say hi to mom and dad wearing my last blades shirt mum bought me before she passed away just under 3 years ago, gave them a little nip of whiskey with the flowers, said hi and talked to them about how things were going and how their grandkids were. Must admit a little tear escaped from the corner of my eye.

Here here Bash. I also lost mine a similar length of time ago and always brings out a bit of emotion in me. He always told me to do the things I enjoyed whenever I got chance so I had a day at Snetterton being deafened by the British Superbikes and having a beer for him, great day out and took my mind off it somewhat :)
