Outgoing? Hamer

I wasn't reassured from Wilder's interview tonight on Hamer. It's out of his hands and if we're led to believe reports that Leeds just need to increase their bid up to £18m then that's not a lot to vertually guarantee them promotion and weakening a key rival for promotion.

At least Johnston is coming ax I do believe he'll be a key addition.

It's possible that Hamer leaving would be a blessing in a (very good) disguise. Square pegs in round holes is a cliché of course but it's what we're seeing at the moment, and if we have to sell a talented player to get a more appropriate player or two, then that's the way it goes.

I see your logic but selling your best player to a promotion rival is far from ideal. If we can play Hamer back in the middle we'll see the best of Hamer. I'm excited over Johnston coming to enable Haner to move back to centre. That might leave Souza on the bench though which I'm not so sure is going to be desired fir Souza as he does have his own quality but something has to give.

Probably somebody leaving but please not Hamer or Blaster.

Wilder has just practically told Slimane to get fucked, in public, because he wants to leave.

Does anyone really think that in the same interview Wilder would be praising Hamer if (as rumoured) he had already agreed terms with Leeds, or was showing a real desire to move?

It might well be out of both player and manager's hands if the board accepts a bid, but that's a big if. It would send a horrendous message from the new owners and turn half of the fanbase against them from minute one.

Oh don't get me wrong I'd rather keep him, and it could backfire horribly if he went to Leeds, I can just see a scenario where it might lead to improved team performances.

The weeds really think they are going to get him. Even local journo's saying no increased offers going in. But , alas, we are Sheff Utd, I know situations are different, but to lose Hamer would replicate how last summers window went!!!!

Good to see the usual neurotic posters on here panicking about fuck all again. It's obviously how they roll and gives them pleasure in life, otherwise perhaps urs time to find another less stressful hobby than supporting SUFC.

Hamer won't be going anywhere this window unless a club offers a ridiculous amount of money... which is highly unlikely. Fancy getting into a panic over something Leeds United have done I.e made a silly bid to appease their fans. Deary me.

Not a goodbye. Souza came up to him and was pointing out at someone behind me. It was probably Hamer's wife and Hamer was blowing kisses to her.
Nah
The pointing & the kisses were directed at you , oh knowledgeable one
Souza was saying - see that fella there, ten years time search him out & he’ll be able to tell you about every appearance, goal, shot, tackle & pass of your 400 odd games for demBlades 😉

Logic would suggest that any club wanting Hamer weren't prepared to match the buy-out price.
So now, as long as the club is looking at more than that price for the player, Hamer is going nowhere in this window.

Looked very up for it when he came on. Class despite the side just not being at it
He was showing Leeds just how good he is.

This kid will be bigger than Ndiaye, Currie, MGW et al given the chance playing in the right position. This is a crossroads in the tekkova saga / Blades history. Take him out of this side and let Wilder buy a couple of his usual punts and it’s a downwards spiral I don’t think we’ll get out of in my lifetime.

My question to the current/new owners if they have even the slightest thought of selling:

Why put an expiry date on the release clause to give us enough time to find a replacement.. only to sell with less than a week remaining and leaving us in a mad dash scramble??

I honestly cant see any universe where selling Hamer now is the right decision.

The choice was to sell at the beginning of the window or not at all.

We should be building the team around this lad, he will be a star in a top PL or European side in the next few years, he’s that good. Alas, I am expecting him to be dashing between grounds and medicals at 22:45 on Friday night, it’s so us.
