Outgoing? Hamer

I’d be surprised if he’s playing or on the bench tonight he missed a lot of preseason and Wilder said in the build up that players are being monitored closely if they’ve not had much football in preseason. Expect it to be a 21’s side tonight with Brewster and Souttar thrown in
Surely you'd be using this fixture to get minutes in legs, even if it's just off the bench

Exactly, if it was the PNE team minus Hamer, fair enough. When half the team are missing, are they all being sold?

I don’t think so two games in 5 days is a big ask for a player who’s not yet match fit. Think it’s more likely he misses tonight and does 70ish minutes at the weekend then maybe look to get him a full 90 next time out.

I could be wrong but I’d be surprised.

He's not going anywhere or he would be gone now
Personally not bothered if he does
Arblaster and brooks get a pass because they are kids but gus was a big part of that gutless team that let us all down last season

Some people just need something negative to. Cling on to. So. Him being irreplaceable and leaving is their latest neurosis.

Why the fuck does anyone take this bollocks remotely serious?

There must be some really gullible people about as seemingly some are desperate to be in panic mode.

He isn't being sold to Ipswich. Move on to the next panic if you want.
Something to have a whine at isn't it, some fans thrive off it for some inexplicable reason.

Because they could pay in much smaller installments now. £15m in cash is hard to find
Is this a well known fact that a release fee has to be paid, in full, up front? It's the first time I've ever heard it mentioned before that's all. (Genuine question)

It's extremely common, but I'm making an assumption. Could be wrong obviously. Maybe they got a bid in before it expired? Maybe United gave him a new deal that removed it?

Time will tell.
But FWIW I thik Hamer and Souza are our best/most influential players, and by a country mile.

A. It's made up.
B. Even if it wasn't, I'm sure our friends at Maquarie would be happy to help out.

I’ve never heard of a time a release clause has been met via two payments. Always one payment.

Regards him going to Ipswich, they’d now be stumping up twice the amount of cash needed than before, so i can’t see it being a goer

It'd have to be negotiated if it was to be paid in installments, vs being triggered directly with the lump sum. Otherwise you could theoretically have a team bid a quid up front, with the rest of the fee spread in installments and the selling club would be forced to sell if the total fee hit the clause.

With that said, there'd definitely be negotiations around a release clause if the player wanted the move, or if the terms of the clause have set financials within it re: payment structure.

That's my understanding anyway - take with a pinch of salt! 😂

YorkBlade was obviously asked by the Prince to tell the fans his release clause had expired to add to the growing positivity around the club.

Why on earth would he put that news out there, just to sell him a week later? Makes no sense.

Jimmy Ramble and El Accounto also got the news about Hamers contract and were obviously told they could release it.

As Jimmy said....it doesn't mean he wont now be sold.
It just means SUFC now hold all the cards, his release clause was £17.5 million and Hamer value is probably £20 to £25 million.

So think we'll only listen to offers if it starts at £30 million and we'd need to have an equivalent replacement or a group of players lined up.
If Hamer does go it will be on our terms and it would only happen to make us even stronger.

However it would look stupid if a club now bids £30 million when last week they could have had him for £17.5 million.
So it looks pretty obvious he's staying.

It would make sense. Release clause likely had to be 100% cash up front. Other deals don't
The release clauses usually work in the same way as any other transfer fee, they can be structured to be paid over time based on the 2 clubs agreeing. I don't think there's many occasions where there's a demand it's all paid up front.

And Anel.

Ipswich mate says - "It's happening". Not sure if that's wishful thinking on his part, or what.

Also. Saw an Ipswich fan on twitter suggesting they purposely let the clause lapse as a release clause needs paying in 1 go... no idea if true or bollocks?

Suprised he’s tweeted this, usually tweets actual journalists, not fanzines. There might be some truth, he’s our most sellable asset. Surprised Brentford, Wolves etc haven’t been in contacts.

Ipswich are rich though, so don’t think money would be an issue. Also, i’m uncertain why the Princes’s twitter disciples tweeted that his clause had gone, was that to weed any bids out?

Thank you for tell us that's £10 please 😏

Just to further the point: it's been reported Solanke had a release clause in his contract somewhere in the region of £57 million. Spurs didn't want to meet this clause up front, but because Solanke was so keen on the move they negotiated a higher fee with Bournemouth that was spread over a longer period of time. The clause wasn't technically triggered, but it did have a bearing on the transfer if that makes sense.

Again, to my understanding! 😂

You don't think we have better ways of weed more bids out than telling a few fan led social media accounts?!

Jeez everyone needs to calm down 🤣

I’m sure you’d be over La Luna about that.

Just think there’s a reason they’ve done it before anyones reported it, they’ve obviously been told to do it.
