Hip hip...
Nobody's irreplaceable and all that but these owners will probably sit on their hands until deadline day and then launch 5m at Southampton for BBD

Bollocks
We’ve won the fourth and the third division titles since then.
No we won’tyes we will sign Soutter now
Not signing a new contract, former club wants him back, former club now in Premier league, last big contract for him, whats hard about understanding that?
To give some context, the winger who starred for Egypt is in the last year of his contract.Let Gus complete his medical, then tell them to stump up another 2 million. Last year of contract or not, 6 million is a bargain for them
Who do we sell next season when we need even more money if all of our players are on loan or out of contract Summer 2027? We are beyond fucked
As has been said above, we've got a ~£30m cashflow hole to fill next season.
£5m of that will come through wages from players released on frees- Davies, Ings, Mee
£10m will come through selling Hamer (fee + saved wages)
That leaves £15m which, sadly, will have to come through selling one or more of the academy graduates. Peck is the most likely to attract bids at the required level and Wilder and his team will believe that Arblaster will be in a position, come August, to step back up to a decent level.
I don't think many on here understand football club ownership models unfortunately.Obviously a Harvard graduate
Villa sold Morgan Rogers, was that asset stripping.
Suggest you go back to school
Brethren being the operative word in their case. Clearly disgracefully inbred. If you ever have the misfortune to go to Coventry, look at the shape of their heads. It’s a telltale sign and why Oxford University carry out their anthropological research there.Because like all his brethren, he's a wum getting bites from half the entire forum.
Having ruminated on this for a while it’s in line with my expectations.
I reckon we’ve still got a £5m shortfall. Selling Peck for £10-15m is the key as that gives is the funds to reinvest.
Good post - but I don’t think there is as much interest in Peck as there thought there would be. More likely it Seriki will be sold - as 2 offers from the sane club already so even if say £2 million upfront & £4 million after 12 months - I can see that happening. Seriki’s head has been turned & his agent will be on it!Having ruminated on this for a while it’s in line with my expectations.

They won't get seriki for that sort of dealGood post - but I don’t think there is as much interest in Peck as there thought there would be. If we sold Seriki for anything less than £15-20m it'd be an absolute disgrace, in my opinion. The lad was our most important player in half our matches last season and is only a young English right back.Good post - but I don’t think there is as much interest in Peck as there thought there would be. Have a look. I've been coming on here for a long time. Like to chat about our games with decent people who like the same. Was always made to feel welcome when you were the team going places and we were struggling. That's changed now.Do you even know (or care) whether Coventry have a forum? Or what it’s called?
Imagine going to the effort of signing up to another club, not even a rival club, forum.
It’s odd.
With you till rough diamondsSell him. He's 29, in the final year of his contract and he wants to go. If it's £6 million, then so be it.
Losing £45 million annually leaves a big hole. Fortunately Wilder knows how to polish rough diamonds.
We don't have an ownership model. You think its a good thing that we're consistently loaning players in and not signing players permanently to replace those that leave? Since we've gone to playing with Wingers in Wilder 3.0 below are the wingers we've signed -I don't think many on here understand football club ownership models unfortunately.
How would Seriki be worth that? He's not played more than 30 games a season yet... He's not even had a breakthrough season. He's good, but not worth that, and unfortunately we only have a year left on his deal with an option, so we're not going to be able to command that fee.If we sold Seriki for anything less than £15-20m it'd be an absolute disgrace, in my opinion. There's a couple on that list not down to wilderWe don't have an ownership model. Rak Sakyi - Loan
BBD - Loan
Barry - Loan
Ogbene - Loan
Donovan - Loan
Chong - Permanent.
One permanent signing for two positions on the pitch. Now tell me what model is that? Because its certainly not player trading, which involves buying at a low price to potentially sell at a higher, for example Norwich with Nunez, Sargent or Swansea with Galbraith and likely Vipotnik. We are literally taking our permanent assets, and replacing with nothing that is ours.
So your statement is correct, just in reference to yourself and the person you've quoted.
You know it isn't true.Disappointed in the fee, and even more disappointed it's to the tennis ball chuckers, I will NEVER forget their shameful behaviour in trying to get tha game against us abandoned.
Its not down to selles either, the constants are still at the club... Bettis, Hoyland etc, don't tell me you think recruitment is done by the managers still. Says it enough times in press conferences that its down to those guysThere's a couple on that list not down to wilder

Peck is the only one we could command a fee like that for, potentially, as his contract is long. Arblaster would have, prior to his injury.
Thing is, hes a very late bloomer, hes same age as Tom Cannon, and because we paid a fee for TC he gets pelters, but Seriki as he's one of our own gets an easier ride, but I'd hardly think a rb will command a high fee. He's worth it. His ceiling is massive. He's Maguire levels of potential IMO, in that a medium sized PL team will pay 7 figures and sell him for double to a top six PL Club or onto an Elite Europe Club.
Nonsense. Agree he's the age he is, but it's a meaningless metric if he's durable (which he is) and remains available.Thing is, hes a very late bloomer, hes same age as Tom Cannon, and because we paid a fee for TC he gets pelters, but Seriki as he's one of our own gets an easier ride, but I'd hardly think a rb will command a high fee.
You’ll be disappointed, there’s no way anyone pays us that much for Seriki. If we get £5m-£8m for him I’d be amazed. Hopefully we keep him, otherwise we get a Gilchrist/Clarke type replacement and it becomes another position where we’re too slow and lack athleticism. If we sold Seriki for anything less than £15-20m it'd be an absolute disgrace, in my opinion. The lad was our most important player in half our matches last season and is only a young English right back.
As another expensive full back would say "there's levels to this game". If in 10 years Seriki reaches those levels, come back to me.Nonsense. Agree he's the age he is, but it's a meaningless metric if he's durable (which he is) and remains available.
The likes of Walker, Cole, Cafu, Lahm, Alves would like a word about the relative value of a wingback/RB/LB.
You know it isn't true.
We had awful owners. They took us to L2. They moved us to Northampton and then Birmingham for our home games. They sold players as soon as an offer came in. The only reason we got back to the Championship was Robins. In the end they let him keep half the money from each player sold as they saw a profit from the constant sales. Eventually he had enough to buy Gyokeres and Hamer for just over 2m.
But by this time we'd had enough. We were protesting at each game. All of our opposition supporters joined in with our protests except for one..... Our protesting gave you the winning goal. We even applauded your winning goal. But let's not consider the truth.
Your club now looks in trouble because of your owner. You've sold your best players and most probably won't see much if anything spent on your squad. It's a bad slippery slope. Even though some like yourself make comments like this I really hope things change for you. It isn't fun watching the club you love being ripped apart.
Wasn't it 9 assists in 9 games consecutively..a Championship record.Hamer got the most assists in the Championship last season.
Worth remembering that Wilder was good at signing other teams POTS, skipper, club captain that suggests that others had done the majority of the development and polishing, for him to use for us.With you till rough diamonds
Since returning Dec 2023 I would say only cooper, oHare & Bamford have been a success - but they are proven operators
Burrows, Sam Mac, Ty, Jairo in spells
But we’ve also had Grbic, Moore, Rothwell, Shackleton, ings, cannon etc
I think the days of the 9th place finish team build are long behind him
Who was the last rough diamond, didzy??
