Half time "entertainment".

Am I the only one who doesn't really see the point of the half time "entertainment", namely the dancing children?

I am aware that they are just kids doing their best, and that their leader had dedicated their dance on Saturday to his recently deceased father, but do we really need this? It's not as if they are in time with the music, or even particularly good. Perhaps the club could change the entertainment to something that's not, well, crap. It seems that any child with basic movement skills has been inspired by the shitfest that is "Britain's Got Talent" and wants to dance. Badly. Breakdancing doesn't involve lying down on a football pitch as far as I can remember.

This may seem a trivial subject, but we are playing pretty well at the moment and so need a new focus for our moaning, and these dancers get right on my wick.

Yes it does. If you don't like it then go and get a pie at half time. Cheer up you miserable bastard.....:rolleyes:
 
I didn't bother with a pie or a pint on sat because frankly its a waste of time, money and effort. So I stood ar my seat and endured this.

The only entertainment in this was when the sprinklers came on.

Oh and I learnt that dancing is not beneficial to fat kids.

Well done for giving it a go though

Due to my advancing years, I have developed a new syndrome which means that at 44 minutes, I badly feel the need to fart - from my seat in the corner, I therefore set off towards the gents just in case of a possible follow-through.

I usually manage to reach row AA before the explosion, but it was a real pleasure recently to return to the door, with both yellow jackets accusing the other of an absolute paint stripper..
 
Need to do a crossbar challenge or something, they're usually alright to watch, especially when some prat takes it too seriously and turns up in boots, only to be absolutely dogshit!

I'd get all the kids who took part in the "run up the pitch in the giant plastic ball" races and see how they go x years on. I reckon some of them won't even be able to complete the course.
 
my half time entertainment consists of standing in the pie queue, so i've never witnessed it

The second half may be obstructed by a giant inflatable ball making its way back down the pitch; Cressy to attempt a header and rebound off into the Jess Ennis upper tier, breaking an arm and a few ribs

That was brilliant when he used to drive that thing through the tightest spot between the advertisements and the bottom of the stand.

What they should have done was pick a random person from the stand to try and drive it through. Would be quite a challenge especially if they'd had a couple of sherbets before the game.

I remember going to Halifax one night, they had cracking half time entertainment ........................ fookin lightning hitting the floodlight pylons and a stock car whizzing round the speedway track throwing mud everywhere.

Hi,

Sorry you don't enjoy it, but I think your comments are a little harsh...

The kids are aged from 8-15 & work very hard every week on learning the choreography & formations etc...

To say they are not in time is also harsh as they totally are, just look on YouTube at the performances. We have had so much positive feedback from everyone at the Lane but I totally understand its not for everyone. I have been a blade since 1990 so it's an honour for me to be involved in this small way, yes Saturday what dedicated to my dad as that's where our relationship really started so was a fitting way to say goodbye....

We have 5 different Dance Crews, the Sufc one being the largest due to it being a big area to fill. The competition crews were recently in London auditioning for Got To Dance & were superb!! Some of those guys are in the Sufc crew too...

If you don't like it then that's totally fine, but the kids love it, it gives them an amazing confidence boost & gives them a great focus at school too...

The only half time entertainment I quite like is the kid's small pitch games we sometimes have. We could create a mini league of 4 or so teams and run a comp during the season to create some interest. It might be good to get some of the academy lads doing routines or skills as well. At least it would get them used to being in a stadium with a crowd which ought to be part of their football education.

I remember years ago we had a running race put on by a local athletics club and they ran a couple of times around the pitch. Their were a couple of lads who turned up in pig shirts who went out into the lead but joy of joy a lad in a Blades top hunted them down and beat the cheeky buggers. That created the biggest involvement I've seen for any half term events.
 
I remember at Coventry a couple of years ago they had a decent competition going on at HT.

There was an empty goal and a ball lined up on the pen spot, edge of the box and on the halfway line or something similar and the cash prize went up every corresponding ball. This bloke won a grand for scoring from the half way line. Wouldn't mind seeing something like that at the Lane.
 



i would of liked to seen kitson introduced to the fans and monty given chance to say goodbye. instead of the dancing kids dont really like saying this as you tell it meens the world to them but it is boring
