Does a players previously club really have that much baring on how successful they will be for Sheffield United? I read on here many post in the nature of "Coventry reject, no good for us" but seriously is that a good enough statement to justify your disapproval of the signing?
We can't compete with some in this division on transfers and to be honest bar 1 season in the Premiership we have always had to make do and be creative in the transfer market. Over the years we have signed many players who have been able to do a job for us but could have been argued strongly against on the basis of their previous club,
Derek Geary - Not good enough for Wednesday and couldn't even get a Championship club so had to sign for Stockport
Stuart McCall - Not good enough to play for a relegated Bradford
Paddy Kenny - Bury Keeper!!!!
Chris Morgan - Barsnley player who has found his level
Neil Shipperly - Fat ex Palace play, what the hell are we playing at?
This list could go on and on and on but the truth is you never really know how they will turn out until they pull on the red and white shirt.
