Oh for God sake. The coaching staff needed a refresh. Gary McSheffrey is going to take the Jack Lester role, Micky collins promoted out of the Academy as well. If Ramos brings something different that is a positive but if he doesn't, it doesn't matter. It is not as though he will be telling Wilder what to do.

Some people make great assistants

They are a sounding board and offer a different perspective, some players might bond more with a different personality .

Whatever the reasoning its a positive move .

As people have said , the coaching side needed a refresh regardless.

Quite worrying really.

As it stands, the owners might as well put any one of us on the coaching staff or in the DOF role, since we'll have all seen and know far more about football than the people signing the cheques have or will ever do.

Wilder used to talk about "Playstation managers" when his bosses are now just that.

On a lighter note, when I first saw the photo of Ramos, I thought we'd signed Ruben Neves to solve our midfield problems!

Wow!

Completely agree mate , I know that the negative thoughts and comments after our start are completely justified, but come on let's get behind the club now .we've got a long hard season in front of us so please let's not start and resemble the idiots across the city.

Interesting appointment. CW's back room team has gone stale and needed updating. Also having a foreign coach is a step forward in terms of style of play and having a member of the coaching staff who can converse in a foreign language. Soumare should benefit from his own countryman being on the staff.

The converse is Ramos is a complete unknown and his CV is hardly inspiring. Add in the Bulgarian links to the Board member who plays poker and it raises questions about whether COH understand how to run a football club.

If Ramos convinces the manager to switch formation to 3-4-1-2 and ditch the turgid slow triangle passing in the corners he will get my vote. Unfortunately it will be rightly perceived as just another vanity project for a Board member who gives the imp.ression he knows about football. He seems to have far too much influence in decision making at the moment.

The case for a DOF is growing day by day.
If they haven't learned the errors of there ways after the Sellers debacle they never will.

Why not trust the poker player with more key decisions.
His track record has been fantastic so far...

Rosen, Eltoukhy & co. are absolute clowns.
Dangerous ones, too. Because they still seemingly don't know what they don't know and think they have an answer for everything (AI / listen to the cards player).

There's been an arrogance to them from the second they arrived and chose not to speak to the fans.

They're charlatans.

Seems a bizarre appointment. He's only ever been an assistant manager. Apparently only has a UEFA B coaching licence. Has only ever been an assistant manager, mainly following a bloke called Bruno Baltazar around wherever he got a job. He's only lasted a maximum of 44 games wherever he's gone. He's had 11 jobs in 10 years.
The worst stat his win percentage in his last 3 jobs averages 17.8%.

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

Let’s not get bogged down with all the positives.

Used to meet Guilherme at the fish tank to go onto Josephines for a night on the pull. Knows his football pretty well and successfully called Alex Ferugson being the next top manager. Thought he made his fortune betting on ski village getting burned down every other month but obviously lost it on other losing bets and is skint again.

So Wilder stated in his presser that "Gui" is his appointment and someone he would have taken to his next job, wherever that would have been.

Does anyone else believe this? 😅
I don’t know how anyone believes a word he says. Never known anyone talk so much shite.

Is it possible to be an absolute clown and a charlatan ? I suspect they are neither.

Now either Chris is straight up lying or the more hysterical conspiracy theories aren't based on much.

One of the two!

So a manager that exclusively works with British/Irish back room staff employs a coach from a remote Bulgarian club that one of our investors owns and we’re expected to believe that’s just a happy coincidence?

One of many clubs he's been at...

What's in it for Chris to come out so much and make up this story? He could have simply said he's part of the team and will offer new ways and ideas and instead of a whole background to it.

Conspiracy theories really do have to work a lot to make sense.

I think the appointment actually reflects very well on Wilder, and as one of his critics I applaud him for it. I have said elsewhere that he gets my backing for the time being because I am prepared to put aside personality traits I find dislikable out of pragmatism and for the sake of the club’s wellbeing at this particular moment in time, and this appointment demonstrates that I may have to reconsider at least some of my previous criticisms. The words he has chosen to use convince me that he isn’t lying on this.

I’ll be honest I don’t see a universe where this would be Wilders choice.

It’s just so not him

Ramos being appointed is all I needed to feel confident we can make the top 2. He’s like the secret ingredient in Hendos.
