If only there was a reason cases have gone down unlike America where it's still rising as they didn't lockdown like we did and quickly tried to reopen 🤔

Quick question can someone point me in the direction of a safe bin that I can dispose of the mask I'm wearing to protect me from the death of mankind because they don't last for ever do they..????

Chances are it's not infected as cases are so low because we locked down and then put in extra measures so even with cases growing it's from a low base and now it's a case of wait and see with regards to schools (Scotland started today).

Test events suspended indefinitely but will slowly start up again i am sure. It's all trial and error and expecting it to be perfect right away is probably unfair no matter what side of it you are coming from.

But if everyone was wearing a mask inside the ground wouldnt that cut down the risk and possibly allow more fans back in to the stadiums.

Because of health issues I struggle to wear a mask - yes I have both ears - but find it difficult to breathe. There are no easy answers sadly.

It is unpleasant wearing them to be fair, I have no health issues affecting my wearing a mask, but I wouldn't fancy wearing one for the best part of 3 hours with public transport and then the match.

Test events suspended because of a mishap on the numbers that means we have lied to you about the real numbers

Fuck off, public transport indeed........

Who is doing the lying?! Government figures? Pretty low. Just not low enough for their liking. Everything is being planned as if a autumn second wave WILL happen so they are trying to contain that not deal with today's numbers.

Assuming that we aren’t all gonna get to go to matches, at least early in the season, (how) should the club be trying to figure out how to get more atmosphere into the ground?

It'd be good if they increased the green zone to include some family or summat, or club staff that aren't related to the running of the first team, just so there was at least someone there who is not directly involved that could cheer or something.

Really? The 30 % capacity limit atmosphere will be awful. It would be like the second half at a midweek game at Sheffield Wednesday but without the away fans making some noise

It would be crap but I'm sort of in the "some atmosphere is better than no atmosphere" school of thought.

Although with social distancing and no shouting 30% might be as much good as 0%

The economic pressure on L1, L2, NLS & grassroots clubs is much larger. They rely on gate money & bar money to survive. In a common sense World, they would be much higher up the priority list for opening than Elite Clubs. There have been a few shenanigans. Step 6 Clubs hosting Step 7 Clubs in pre season, but calling it a home game for the Step 7 Club so fans can attend. (FA have closed that loophole). I've been attending ECB Premier League Cricket quite happily for a few weeks. I agree, strong case for letting fans into non-league.
I’ve just joined the board of my local non-league club, at Step 4. We’ve managed to get a Pre-season friendly with Luton Town this Saturday, and Mick Harford told us they’d “bring down the first team, for the first half at least”. Lots of interest locally, but it has to be played behind closed doors due to the current rules. We’ve even had - don’t tell anyone - to move the kick off to 2pm because of the number of people planning to turn up to try and watch.

Our ground holds 2,500 but most weeks we barely get 150 in. You’ve a job on not to socially distance with a “crowd” that size...

Unfortunately, I think it's going to be easy for the Government to kick letting fans in way into the long grass. They'll say - the deal was done with the PL & elite clubs, it was agreed to let them play behind closed doors, with every game on TV, on the understanding they would see clubs further down the pyramid through these difficult financial times.

So basically you are saying we have to give some of our £125 million to them scrubbers in S6 so they can go and spunk it on a 8 year contract for a 32 year old ex Premiership star with a long injury record.
Have no problem helping Fleetwood, Rotherham, Northampton, Torquay etc but not S6 scroungers who only seem to do any ground improvements when other people pay and now will be signing players with other people's money.

Yeah. You're right. That's basically what I'm saying. Now that I've decided to live my life completely dedicated to the World's Biggest Comedy Football Rivalry. All together now - you're a pig, no you are, no it's you that's the pig, no you're the pig around here. All made better by being shouted at each other from 120 yards away across a phalanx of plod. Up The Football.....
