Knee update. Well looked after at matches by getting the best seat in the ground at Brighton, and a seat on Row 1a in the South Stand, ideal for making giant 'V' signs to the Wet Spam fans with my crutches. My leg immobiliser is the best thing ever, especially as I can use it as a practice pad when drumming on my leg with pens.

And here's the show where I tell the whole sorry tale, starting with Stepping In A Slide Zone by the Moody Blues, then two songs by Pink Floyd, One Slip and Comfortably Numb.

Good choice of music.

So you were putting on the whole leg thing?

Just so's I could get near the West Ham fans! I planned it all, even down to hearing my knee snap and making sure Wet Spam scored an injury time equaliser which was then overturned by VAR. I was desperate for the EastEnd wankers to see my cockney walk, plus I really wanted to make a giant 'V' sign at them with my crutches.

Seriously though, which it were all put on - it's driving me bonkers!

all the best mate. if you can ever only get a lift to manchester and not sheffield, i'll take you the rest of the way. 👍

Meant to say at the time, I once did that coming back from Roger Waters at Wembley Arena in 1987. I'd got as far as Watford Gap and it was the early hours of the morning. Absolutely nobody was going to Sheffield, with everyone who stopped telling me they were going up the M6. In the end I took a lift to Manchester and got the first train back to Sheffield. The car that picked me up actually broke down in Moss Side, which seemed a pretty dangerous place even at 4.30am. I ended up walking into town form there.
