I won't link to the article out of spiteful revenge against Adrian Durham of Talksport.

But this is what James Chester of Aston Villa (formerly Hull) says about the greatest atmosphere he's ever experienced:-

"Greatest atmosphere: Hull 5-3 Sheffield United, 2014
Crystal Palace away is always a good one as they make some really good noise and I recall the FA Cup semi-final against Sheffield United, too. I remember after one of their goals the noise was something I’d never heard before."

The noise was the blades behind us fighting with each other ;)

Could have heard a pin drop when we scored those three goals against Hull where we were sat.

As an architectural accomplishment Wembley is breathtaking but as a football venue it's shit.

The atmosphere at half time was the best I've ever experienced. Old bloke threw his walking stick away and danced up and down in front of the bar. Loads of beer guts out and shirts being waved above heads. Fucking mint.

We had a Belgian policeman (friend of a friend) with us who dint speak a word of English and he kept going up to some reyt scallywag shithouse types who youd normally not say boo to and hugging them like they were his best pal. Just mint.

When scougall put us 2-1 up, exhilarating

This is why we shouldn't be afraid this season. Our League One team wasn't and we nearly went all the way to the final.
So surely we can find enough with this team to not have any worries. If we continue with what we do we'll be ok, we'll do enough.
If we stand off, defend, and change what we normally do through fear of the opponents, we'll struggle big time.

The standing ovation when they got their 5th stays with me the most. Those cup runs are rightly overshadowed by the promotions but that side showed even in league one we could give bigger sides issues

I think Curtis Davis mentioned that moment after the game saying it was an unreal experience to see our fans reaction to their 5th goal, he praised our fans big time.

Don't blame him though, we are the best.

Pretty sure Rio commended our fans too, think he as a pundit that day.

We were exceptional on that cup run.

My favourite game , and atmosphere , in that cup run was at Villa . That was very special.

Nailed it for me, Paisley Blade Flynny’s goal at Villa, and the utter bedlam that followed in the stand, is a decent candidate for my favourite 5 mins on the road with the Blades ever. (And that includes the rarest of rare joy that was witnessing Geoff Horsfield scoring for us in the first round of the League Cup at MK Dons).

Villa Park is one of the away grounds I’ve been to most, over the decades. I know the area quite well. Our victory there in that Cup run left me so damn giddy that I got us hopelessly lost looking for the car, and fleetingly considered buying BadBuy Jr a half and half scarf as a souvenir.*

*Found the car eventually. Came to my senses re scarf.

A few of the games from the triple assault season take some beating. The night matches were going up a level every game, G & H blocks were electric. You kind of knew that something would eventually happen.

It was some day . We were down at the front and the noise swirling around from above us was immense , my Villa supporting work colleague said the noise from visiting fans had only been equalled by Man Utd in his 30 plus years at Villa Park.
