Grealish says we're the best

If they lose Grealish and Chelsea keep Tammy Abraham, they’d be weaker than this season before any recruitment...we’re stronger than them as it stands - but the key is the summer transfer dealings
they'll only lose Grealish to a top 6 team playing in Europe. let's face it, Villa are a huge club and anything else would be a sideways move

God he has such a punchable face.

This is where I get myself in trouble. I could just stay quiet, acknowledge your post and carry on eating my sugar puffs but... :)

I think the money you got for Che Adams, Jamie Murphy and the genius that was (and still is) Harry Maguire more than made up for what he "wasted" and my own (biased) view is that he generated a lot of what he spent through the 2 semi final cup runs.

When you think he got Coutts and Freeman for a combined 236k as well, not too shabby.

Yes he made some shockers, whoever signed off on Higdon wants their heads looking at.

Anyhow, what I won't deny is the signings Wilder has made have been a clear step up and I don't want to row anymore. You've got a great manager in charge and I'm enjoying watching Burton playing some decent stuff.

Happy days all around ;-)

****** little edit to stop anyone coming back with a daft insult***** At the time of course I was gutted and thought McCabe was a clown, fast forward 3 seasons and even I'd have to be totally mad to say he made the wrong decision. I'm not blowing smoke up your arses when I say CW has literally shown sign of not just being a good manager but of being a genius manager. I watched your player award night celebrations and you don't build that kind of team spirit unless you've got a real touch of class as a man manager. The bloke is brilliant.

My post was neither an insult or to try and start an argument.

Equally I'm not disputing he made us some money.

My point was more about him and his cohorts not respecting the budget at times. The current court case has alluded to this.

I've not been paying attention to the court case but of course would read it and acknowledge it if I saw it. The causing an argument point wasn't aimed at you pal, just there were always a couple of really nasty posters who would hammer me even when I came back to say well done.

I get myself into enough arguments without it happening when I'm trying to be nice.

If you've got any links to that story I'd be keen to read it. Was it aimed at NC or at Mal Brannigan?

I said it last season about Grealish ... he was a twat at Villa park with his diving antics but the evening match at the Lane when Snodgrass scored the last minute winner he was quality. Keeping the midfield ticking over, short passes to team mates, rarely losing the ball and not play acting. Would have him here no problem as he is definitely maturing into a very good footballer.

V good footballer - just needs to cut out the diving. No chance of him coming to us. Will likely be on 100k a week next season.

Is there a link up anywhere of his complimentary remarks about us?

And to think 5 years ago this week we were on the brink of getting McGinn for £100,000.
Clough was bringing him in the same time as McNulty, but the deal stalled, and Hibs nipped in.

Worth a bit more than that now!

I'm not an ITK guru, but I did speak to someone close to the player who told me we bid £150,000 plus Lyle Taylor. After this was turned down we came back in with a £150,000 bid!!

NC went up to Scotland to finalise it after McGinn made his debut for the u21's I think. To be fair in that game he had a stinker, got booked and could(maybe should) have been sent off. I think the extra season or two up in Scotland worked out well for him.

The lad really is brilliant and has everything in his locker to make it in the PL as well. I bet he's worth closer to 15m than 150k that's for sure.

There was a few on here watching that game, as we were aware of the link. McGinn looked about 2 stone heavier than he is know. Lyle Taylor has improved as well!

I watched Lyle Taylor's interview at the end of the play off final and he came across really well. Sounded quite bright as well,

In my head I had him down as a pretty thick lad who was a bit of a trouble causer. Either he's changed massively as a person and as a player or someone made a mistake in judging his character and ability.

Where is Eriksen going?

🤔
Real if they fail to sign Hazard (or as well as)
Man Utd (especially if they also go for Pochettino)
Barcelona if none of the above
Or any other club in Europe considered to be bigger than Spurs
Or maybe he stays at Spurs if they do/don’t win the Champs League

Come on mate, you’re embarrassing yourself - do try and keep up to date with the transfer rumours...we’re Premier League now!
