He will be fine as a backup keeper.
On their second goal a decent left back doesn’t let Madueke get anywhere near our goal to get the shot off, really poor from Trusty for me. Watched it back on MOTD and their lad is very close to the goal when he shoots and it was powerful into the top corner so I dont think many keepers are saving that.

That moment in the second half where he got caught out. You can't let the ball run across your body like that with opposition players lurking about. That's really fuckin basic stuff.

How can our defenders play with confidence with that behind them?
They don't, judging by the almighty bollocking Bogle gave him in the first half when he refused to take a ball that was his all day long.

I'd agree that showing displeasure of players at games is always counter-productive, without exception, but here we can be honest.

I've already posted an absolute howler he made 12 months ago in one of his rare Atletico Madrid appearances, and when his signing was announced I hoped that was just an off day. It wasn't.

The number of better goalkeepers we could have signed numbers well into three figures. This guy is 6ft 6 and looks smaller, can't kick or pass, can't judge a cross, looks remarkably unathletic, his positioning looks all at sea, and unless a shot is straight at him I expect a goal.

He's also showing that Paddy Kenny tendency to be rooted to the spot as the ball enters the net, without any of Paddy's many redeeming qualities.

Did Bettis keep the receipt?

The only defence i can come up with for Grbic is that he was wrong footed and expected the shot to be sent to the far corner.....

and if he curls an worldie into the far corner we say kudos to him and not much Grbic can do...

But to allow a shot past the near post you're standing at whilst making urself smaller.... thats Sunday League stuff!!

Watching from the JSS I had that sinking feeling as soon as Trusty (who had a better game than recent ones otherwise) allowed their lad to come inside. The goalie is poor but we need a speedy specialist LB as a priority for next season.

Spot on

He dives and his arms disappear

I know so many on here agree, but I just don’t see a goalkeeper in him.

He doesn’t anticipate, seems devoid of confidence and his awareness is lacking

We’ve been lucky to have very good keepers over the last 30 years, but we’ve also had some shockers.

Most recently, our excellent keepers, Ramsdale and Henderson have looked much more alert and aware of what is going on, they positioned themselves better and made life hard for strikers, but so did our defence.

Watching Grbic yesterday he just doesn’t look right.

He will cost us next season, mark my words, he's not a goalkeeper and somebody needs to tell him.

Can't one of the players stamp on his foot or something in training. Get him injured, and get Wes back in..

I can't believe you're still actually sticking up for him. Just waiting for the other Ivo supporter to enter thread.

It's a team game. Could Grbic have done better with the shot? Probably. Should Grbic be in a position where he's facing that shot in the first place? Probably not. Does a better keeper save the shot? Probably, wouldn't say it's a banker though

Not disagreeing, but Hendo and Rammers never had to play behind a defence this laughably poor. I only watch the highlights these days, but Grbic reminds me a little bit of Mark Bunn. He seems to let a lot of very saveable efforts in. To be, he is just one of many in our squad who are nowhere near Premier League standard.

Just seen their second goal back for the first time.

At the game from the SS I assumed it had taken a deflection the way Grbic went to his right and the ball in to his left.

It was much worse than I thought. Even if he anticipated the shot going that way, that's on him. For a keeper to not make a genuine effort to try to stop that shot is really poor.

I see Paddy is even criticising him in a roundabout way now so it's not just us laymen.

This may seem way left field but could the problems with all our keepers not being up to the standard required be down to one constant, the goalkeeper coach, is he not spotting weaknesses in the individuals and working on it with them. It just seems that all our keepers are poor

His confidence looks completely shot and we're presumably hoping he'll play his way back to form, because we're stuck with him while Davies/Wes are off in the summer. You can see that his defenders are getting annoyed by him now though.
Bogle had a right go at him first half for not coming out and helping him.

How did the Chelsea keeper get beaten at the near post by Bogle?
That goal was quality from Bogle. He was steaming in from the right, virtually along the back line, he looks up, sees BBD ready to take that square pass, gambled on the keeper thinking the same ball was about to be played, and lashed it at goal. Simple as. I've scored goals like this in the long and distant past!?!? You see that the keeped does actually get wrong footed, expecting the pass across to Bogle.

I'm not even sure about that, but I would give him the opportunity to fight for his place next season.
Clearly Wes needs to come back in for Brentford and we need to sign a new number one for next season.
Anyone who can't see this (including CW) are deluded

But back on the subject of Grbic. I concur with nearly all posts on here, especially on this particular page.
I don't see many goalkeeping attributes in the fella. He can't kick long, or particularly accurately. Can't catch, punch, or even slap/pat the ball very well. Doesn't come for any corners or crosses. Is too slow to shots wide of him. Positionally he ok-ish.
But for me, the final nail-in-the-coffin was yesterday evening. I was sat behind the goal, slightly to one side, in the BLUT, perfectly in line with him and the shot. It was kciked straight at his starting position. He moved to the right. Some may say expecting the shot across him into his right hand corner, some say (and correctly) that Trusty should have done more, but from where I was sat, I could believe what I'd just seen. It was hit straight at him.
He'll not be good for us next season, He'll not be a decent 2nd choice GK. He is awful. He is not a good keeper. He is very tall, and has his own gloves and boots, but apart from that, I cannot see anything, nothing, that leads me to believe he should be at our club - unless some lamps need replacing in the ceiling of the Platinum Suite.

That, my friend, sums him up perfectly

Ramsdale arguably had a weak defence in front of him, but the defence has mostly been a lot stronger in the past weeks, Wes has probably suffered the most this season
