From reading that article it seems Blackburn are in the driving seat. But the bit I take from this is that if we're going for Grant Hanley or a similar type it's likely that Hanley will be back up to Anel and Robinson, like a Martin Cranie type.

I think most of us think we need someone to replace Souttar as a starter, therefore Robbo on the bench. As good as Robbo is I think we need an upgrade on Robbo.

Quite simple, he is a Scottish international who hasnt played a game for his club since the 9th November. Norwich looking unlikely to be promoted this season at their current rate. They have 2 play off matches in March which he will want to be involved in, if Scotland win they stay in Nations League A. He will not get a chance to play for Scotland if he doesnt play for his current club. He will look from a selfish POV, promotion bonus, playing for Scotland and then moving on in the summer to another club as players do of his age.

Would i want him starting? No, would he be good experience and back up? Yes - is there anyone else out there with his experience which will cost little? Debatable but i cant pluck any names currently.

Perhaps we're looking for a way of getting some value from that deal earlier than the Summer to help the promotion push.

Hanley surely wouldn't be terrible CB cover until the end of the season? Not the most exciting but we have nothing on the bench.
