Was Friday's match screened in Australia? I wonder if Graham Arnold was able to see it. If so, perhaps his views on our club might have altered somewhat since his post interview comments.

No, unfortunately it wasn`t screened here, and even if it was I`m sure he wouldn`t have got up at 02:30a.m to watch us!

Yes from what I hear Bassett scuppered Arnold's chances because Arnold stated how he would play and Bassett said you have to be more direct to get promotion from League 1. I also understand that Wally Downes was Bassett's choice. I'm also led to believe that Bassett was not a member of the selection panel that appointed Weir.

It was screened on Setanta, 4:40 am ko, I`m sure Mr Arnold could have caught the replay at lunchtime and seen the once in a lifetime opportunity he`s missed, frankly I think we dodged a bullet there.

There is more than one way to skin a cat as they say. Unfortunately Mr Bassett was correct, as evidenced by the Pork across the city. I would, however ,back the Weir going up way; as much as I enjoyed the Bassett era, for me that style has, hopefully gone for ever.
